Exchange - Spam Filtering

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for both Paid for and Open Source software options to control Spam filtering for Exchange?

 

I've used PureMessage, Groupshield, and have tried ASSP. Does anyone have any other ideas? Just trying to weigh the benefits between them and get a solution installed on our new Exchange machine.

I use Policy Patrol Enterprise by Red Hat Software.

The latest version (6) has a lot of improvements compared to previous versions. I've used them since version 4, and found them a lot better compared to GFI Mail Essentials which I was using before that.

The Microsoft way is using Forefront for Exchange but you can also do it using a SpamAssasin box in front of your Exchange server (also see Proxmox Server Solutions - Mail Gateway for an easy way to do this!).

We use Policy Patrol here too, but there is an open source version of mailwasher server that is pretty good too MailWasher Server Open Source Site

You could use SmoothZap from smoothwall in front of your exchange server.

Ive used Puremessage with good success its actually a really nice product But as I now have a UTM when I do get an in-house mailserver will be looking at the Smoothwall option
