Hi all,

Crazy ask I know but does anyone have such an item as a 2.5 SAS HDD caddy for a dell 2950 poweredge surplus to requirements?

will pay for P&P

:D :) :)

Even more annoying that dell put blank plastic ones in when you dont order drives. Surely it would cost them no more to but proper ones in!!

Indeed - as we found out this afternoon when we went to install some shiny new 300GB disks. Why go to all the effort of making & including blank ones that are totally useless, when they could so much easily make ones that you mount an HDD on?

Dell also charge a ridiculous amount of money for spare blanking plates for their desktops. These are about £17 each and yet they are just plastic!!! :(

They must make a huge profit on them (assuming anyone buys them that is).

All the big makes do include plastic bays in them, as you should buy the Dell Drives which, surprise surprise, include the hot swap caddies :p
