cookie_monster Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 I can't make this one but i'll be up for future events. While you're all at the printworks which is nr the Urbis you should pop to Videogame Nation it's £3 to get in and it's a great laugh. They have loads consoles and home computers from early Ataris, the Dragon 32, Specky, Atari Jaguar (poooooor), C64 you name it it's there Urbis - videogame nation
Ric_ Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 i will be up for it... i can always be dragged out! as a note, i don't think that the trams are running at the moment. i definitely suggest an earlier start though because trains home are rubbish (especially if DB drags you to deansgate rather than oxford road!!!)
EduTech Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Yay! Ric's Coming It's going to be a good night bottles at the ready lol lol
FN-GM Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 I may go, if I can raise a suggestion? Start a bit earlier as I will only get about 2 hours of your company in if we start at 7 (I shall endevour to drag Ric along too). As people are travelling I think a 4 or 5 o'clock start time would be good as we could have a couple of drinks, meal and more drinks before the last train home (I've pushed out almost a week in hotels this month, so I can't leave Jane with the kids alone and expect her sanity to be intact if I stay out one more night!). Ok, will hand it over to you for a start time Z
cookie_monster Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 as a note, i don't think that the trams are running at the moment. Thers's no track through half of Piccadilly Gardens so tram services are either limited or non existent.
john Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Thers's no track through half of Piccadilly Gardens so tram services are either limited or non existent. I dunno you leave a "local" person to organise the event and plot it and he goes and forgets to tell you the trams are not running lol yet Grant who lives a bezillion miles away down south knows that lol Agreed on the earlier start time though as its a Saturday its not as if were leaving the office (well maybe me excepted but that's another story....)
cookie_monster Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 bezillion miles away down south I know it seems like a loooong train ride down south to Buxton but it's really not quite that far
john Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I know it seems like a loooong train ride down south to Buxton but it's really not quite that far Lol If its reachable with ease from Leeds or Lancaster I'm a happy bunny as I can get to them both easy I will have been past no doubt before
Gatt Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Not sure I'll be going now after the 90 quid expense earlier today
cookie_monster Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Lol If its reachable with ease from Leeds or Lancaster I'm a happy bunny as I can get to them both easy I will have been past no doubt before One change at Manc or Stockport and you're there, you won't of been past thought it's the end of the line. We don't like through traffic
FN-GM Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 I never use the trams so i dont know Anyway we need to decide a new time. The reason i picked that one was because it give more time to people to get there...
apoth0r Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 My bed is for me me me and only me.. and someone special / female enough to sleep with me LOL!!! Wow, the response was insane! Go EduTech
winuser Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) I don't really know anyone on here that well, but I might come to this meetup too... I'm new to the city and it'd be good to meet fellow techs Edited August 24, 2009 by winuser
Ric_ Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Can I suggest meeting at 5pm-ish? - means we can have a couple of drinks, go for some food and then have a couple more drinks before people have to head home.

Now wouldn't the Deer Hunter have been soooo much better if instead of guns and Russian Roulette they'd have had several brands of cider and played Gloucester Roulette? Good suggestion Ric I'll second that. Where does everyone want to meet up?

FN-GM Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 Hi, Anymore coming? Anyone any ideas on where to kick off? Zak
Ric_ Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 @FN-GM: I thought that the plan was going to be 5pm-ish at the Printworks. I'm assuming you mean the bar opposite Nandos? There's also Sinclairs Oyster across the road which is nice too (see sinclairs oyster, manchester - Google Maps ).
Dos_Box Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I'm going to have to bale I'm afraid. I've alrewady had too many 'nights out' this month and it isn't fair on Jane for me to get this one too.
