elsiegee40 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 My husband's just been told that he's not going to be made redundant in September after all! I am just SO relieved.! This has been going on since last November - the date has been moved back three times already and finally he has it in writing! It is such a relief!
bossman Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 @elsiegee40: Thats great news so made up for you. I know what it is like to be made redundant. Fantastic :) 1
leco Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 That's really good news, I'm so pleased for you. Dreadful having something like that hanging over you. Now you will be able to enjoy the summer properly 1
ICT_GUY Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Good for you, just in time for the Summer. Drinks all round tonight then 1
elsiegee40 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Good for you, just in time for the Summer. Drinks all round tonight then Definitely! Bottle of fizz I was given at the end of term has gone straight in the fridge! I've been grinning from ear to ear ever since I heard!
kmount Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Fantastic news indeed, all the very best to you both! 1
ButterflyMoon Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Congratulations to you both. Make the time count and have a fab time!! 1
dalsoth Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Book a holiday celebrate in style! Pleased for you. 1
kearton Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Congrats! (to you both) I saw the subject and immediately assumed it was going to be an announcement of pregnancy! 1
Michael Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 It's nice to hear something positive on the employment side of things. Today on the news they announced unemployment is now at 2.4 million which is very depressing! 1
elsiegee40 Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 Congrats! (to you both) I saw the subject and immediately assumed it was going to be an announcement of pregnancy! Been there, done that, got the teenagers... not planning on doing that again! (My teenagers are lovely, but I'd rather have the humungous food bill than the lack of sleep now!)
BatchFile Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Definitely! Bottle of fizz I was given at the end of term has gone straight in the fridge! Put it in the freezer - it chills faster :troll: Congratulations! 1
witch Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Great news! :cheer2: (definitely worth getting the pompoms out for!) Not quite in the same position myself but the bosses at mrwITch's work are circling like sharks, trying to cut the weak ones out of the shoal and cull them. It is very worrying as there isn't anything else around here for him in the good times, never mind recession... You must have been frantic with worry - well done for coping! Have a lovely summer 1
elsiegee40 Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 Thanks for the pompoms witch! I nearly got them out myself, but thought I should ask before borrowing them I do hope things improve soon for mrwITch and you... it is very stressful being in this situation and I feel so much more relaxed since receiving the news! (I guess that'll stop in September when the school re-opens!)
m1ddy Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 All this talk of pompoms has made my day Congrats Elsie, chuffed for you :) 1
sparkeh Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Phew thats good news indeed! Time to relax and have a nice 1
