"Early computers used steam, which is noisy and gives off a lot of heat, and doesn't work" Hilarious!! :D Whoever wrote this book is funny without even trying it seems! Edited July 11, 2009 by Batman
Batman Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Oh ok now I see it is actually a joke. Deliberately. Has to be!
tmcd35 Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Damn, it's been years since I've studied the components of modern processors - ALU, MMU, Registers, Scientology! Completely forgot that... Data can be permanently inscribed on platinum disks by the Church of Scientology and store in vaults in New Mexico
f21970 Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Brill!!! If you love this kinda thing then look at the TV skit series 'Look Around You' on YouTube

"Early computers used steam, which is noisy and gives off a lot of heat, and doesn't work" Hilarious!! :D Whoever wrote this book is funny without even trying it seems! The worst thing is back in the day these books were reprinted with plain covers and distributed to the Civil Service. The NHS computer system is billions of pounds over budget because there are idiots in government ordering the replacement of servers because they're not red and arguing over how they sue the computers because they have to be feed data by women.
john Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Great find Maybe thats why we have so many problems as we don't have enough puppys in the systems and need more women to feed them cassette tapes
Batman Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Brill!!! If you love this kinda thing then look at the TV skit series 'Look Around You' on YouTube Look around you was BRILLIANT!
