In the new staff census we have to provide details on religion.

I am torn between putting down church of the Giant Spaghetti Monster, or writing a long passage on why it is extremely dangerous for local governments to keep records on such things, culminating with a reference to ethnic cleansing and the holocaust.

Promotion through DCC is not likely to feature in my immediate future. :)

Heresy and blasphemy!

Its the Flying Spaghetti Monster. :D I'd say go for that one, you can get a badge and everything. Plus Friday is a holy day to worshippers of His Supreme Noodliness, so you could make a case for taking Fridays off.

Bit dodgy that ! - must be a local Census.

we are preparing for the DCSF School Workforce Census Pilot next term - Religion is not a field that is required

I had a Equal Opp form that didn't have English (or white british or british etc) listed as a nationality ?!? needless to say I put a big tick against everything on that page and sent it off...

But write down every single religion you can find and then demand all of your religious holidays!

This I like,

I would also have grounds for discrimination, hell I would probably end up discriminating against myself :)

*Hopes his staff don't see this for the form and just use the Declined to provide tick box*

Think of the poor IT Manager (or Data Manager) who needs to all these flippin extra "non-pre determined" religions into Sims and Serco for statistical analysis!!! I've enough on my plate without entering The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster etc (shortcut code in Serco SPAG :D)

Hi Guys and Gals - topic bump!

As we read it, we need to supply salary and attendance info for staff, along with NI details and other personal details etc in order to produce the return, this has to be done through our MIS (CMiS) - is this the case? Has anyone else done this? CMiS leaves something to be desired as a system for that, given that we run Simply Personnel for that.

How do other schools do this, and who is responsible for it?

Any info gratefully recieved!

In similar protest when my niece's school asked for 'religion beliefs' on a form, my brother wrote "[name] believes in fairies and the Easter bunny" :-)

Seriously though, why are your schools asking you to state your religion, and what happens if you decline the information?

You could always state that it is against your beliefs to divulge any personal information and leave the rest of the form blank :D
