Crispin Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Your profile says you're in essex, you could commute? My schools a ten min drive...I'm lazy.
mac_shinobi Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 too far away for me and besides already working in a company where I know I am safe what with all the job losses etc
bizzel Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Isn't it a bit strange that they're looking for a new tech and a new network manager at the same time?
mac_shinobi Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Isn't it a bit strange that they're looking for a new tech and a new network manager at the same time? I saw that on there vacancies page and thought it was just me lol
GrumbleDook Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Unless the NM has gone and then poached the techie too. It happens.
mattx Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Thats a damn good wage, wish I lived in London...well sort of. You think ? It's terrible a wage.
Crispin Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) Well its 8k more than mine. A wage like that would allow a lowly tech like me to live very comfortably. At the moment, after bills and rent I live on £10 a week more than what id get on benefits. Thats not including feeding myself by the way! Makes you think. Edited March 17, 2009 by Crispin

somabc Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 23k in London is only enough if you are prepared to share a flat in a rough (up & coming?) part of town, only take the bus to work, shop at lidl and generally try and never spend any money (ie do not go out to the many expensive attractions on offer) So it can be done but its not easy, its really comparable to a salary of 14-16K elsewhere.
