Rozzer Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 I did put some DNS updates up the other day but all seems fine my end Ross
dougchase Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 On the front page: It reads "...all the hep you need." Apple should be capitalized. The sentence that starts "We at How-To-Mac" is a fragment. "Set up" should be two words in this context. Hands-on should be hyphenated. Did you mean "good value for money" instead of "good for value money?" Should read "experienced technicians" instead of "experience technicians." Windows should be capitalized. Your content is really great but the details might need a double-check. I'd be happy to have a look at the rest of the site if you want. 1

As you can tell i am a bit crap in terms of grammer and spelling so your help would be great Any other suggestions are great!
pscott Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 You have a download for bootpicker, maybe you should also have one for rEFIt IMO works much better than bootpicker
Sylv3r Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Thanks for this. I am looking to setup a MAC network next year in one of our suites, so some of this info may be useful.
Rozzer Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 You have a download for bootpicker, maybe you should also have one for rEFIt IMO works much better than bootpicker Good point gonna add now Ross

EduTech Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Bookmarked!.. sure this will come in handy thanks -- one thing.. the forum is very tight (due to the theme of the site) so if you do get allot of forum traffic might be worth looking at that next! Just my opinion. James.
Marci Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 You need to add one bit to the AD Integration post... timesync the Mac client to your domain controller...
Rozzer Posted November 22, 2008 Author Posted November 22, 2008 You need to add one bit to the AD Integration post... timesync the Mac client to your domain controller... Very true! Got a little script which can do that. Ross

jamin100 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 | How-To-Mac New video online let me know what you think. I like it but i think that the video needs to be a better resolution because you cant really see whats going on. I uploaded a video that i made on my mac to viddler.com and when its viewed on full screen you can actually make out whats going on.
Rozzer Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 I will see if i can get a better copy exported. Thanks for the tip Ross
rolfea Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 (edited) Video Tutorials... Remote Desktok? is that supposed to be Remote Desktop? It is looking good though also, found an e on the end of imaging on the topic Imaging Vista / XP Edited December 1, 2008 by rolfea
HodgeHi Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 can you have a tutorial on how to get a software update server running on OS X server and then manage the preference for the client, but then ultimately use softwareupdate -i in ARD to remotely list and install the updates available. I have managed to get the clients here to list them but get a fail for every machine every time i run the -i command from ARD. If i go to each machine and the GUI everything works as it should. :S
Rozzer Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 I am going to do some tutorials on setting up a server from scratch. Just need to get a script and i need to make sure it goes 100% right. Thanks for the spelling errors Ross
