Pyroman Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I've got about 10-20 old imacs (G3 400Mhz) and emacs (?) any thoughts on anything i can do with them before they end up just being taken away and destroyed. Someone here reckons they'll be worth money either now or in the future, what's everyone's thoughts/suggestions?
HMCTech Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I would think they might go up in value in a few years, not by thousands. But we once sold an old Acorn on ebay for £220, and an old Acorn User Guide and Windows 3.1 disk for £60.

webman Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Put them on Ebay for £200, they will sell like hot cakes. 1
OutToLunch Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 If they don't sell on ebay and you end up at the point you'd give them away rather than chuck them, I'm sure our music dept would buy me a pint if I collected a few!
Pyroman Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 (edited) on top of that just found a couple of turquoise apple G3's, the ones that look like they've got a handle on each corner Edited September 26, 2008 by Pyroman
sidewinder Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 ebay or freecycle them - you'll have people biting your hand off if you choose the latter
CyberNerd Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 original emacs and imacs - what to do? Some say vi is a better alternative than emacs, and imac is great for hair removal
marekbrad Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Seriously if you are chucking em away we will have them for a primary school that is wanting some macs for use in nursery / reception. No budget but will come and collect .... go on you know it makes sense
OutToLunch Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Hey, I had my cap out first Freecycle is definitely a good option too, given a fair bit of our old old kit away on there.
marekbrad Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 only making a play buddy no worries 1st come 1st served and all that my mommy always says if you don't ask you dont get... hehe
OutToLunch Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I am just browsing the old Acorns and Beebs on ebay now and thinking I we may have thrown away a goldmine over the last few years
Pyroman Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 thanks for all the suggestions guys i'll keep you posted if they're going begging to edugeekers =D
