HMCTech Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Hi I remember once using a little application that you could enter the I.P address of any servers or switches or any I.P address you wanted to monitor. This app would give you a visual green light if it could ping and a red light if it could not. I wonder if anyone has anything similar?
Michael Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I can't think of an application which does this, but alternatively if you type: ping 192.168.1.1 -t This will keep pinging until you close the command window.
CyberNerd Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 ping 192.168.1.1 -t I think he wanted something pretty, with lights. Nagios gives pretty graphs and will even email you if there is a problem Nagios: Home

mattx Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 My no ping script may help - [ no pretty lights though.... ] http://www.edugeek.net/forums/scripts/15947-no-ping-script.html
MrBatchfile Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I find that PingInfoView from Nirsoft does what I need. PingInfoView - Ping to multiple host names/IP addresses
leco Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Not exactly a monitor but it does have red and blue markers. Gives IP addresses and other info on devices within a range or a single IP. It's called IPscan, sorry haven't got the web site address but a Google should find it easily enough I think.

Nick_Parker Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 OP Software - My Little Server Monitor
Guest theeldergeek Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Hi I remember once using a little application that you could enter the I.P address of any servers or switches or any I.P address you wanted to monitor. This app would give you a visual green light if it could ping and a red light if it could not. I wonder if anyone has anything similar? I use IPscan which will 'investigate' a whole range of IP's but may not be conclusive enough for what you want. You'll need to rename the file from a .zip to a .exeipscan.zip
antoeknee Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Freeping works well and has a visual indication of connection FREEping - FREE IP Ping Software | Free software and tools for Windows 2003 XP 2000 NT
