Promethean Calibration

We have 21 promethean boards with ActivPrimary throughout the school - 2 of which have decided to stop calibrating properly. You can go through the calibration process but then the pen is fine in the centre of the screen, but the further to the edge you get the worse the calibration becomes to the point that the cursor is about 2 inches away from the pen nib. Both these boards worked fine before the summer holidays - any ideas anyone?

Did you have any electrical work done over the summer? [i.e. a new run next to the board]

Sometimes that can cause a problem.

Have you changed the driver on the computer, we had the older boardmate boards and they do not work fully with the new activstudio, we found that we had that problem too, we had to get a seperate activhub to connect each board to the new activdriver.

 

Another way around it was to use the old driver that came with the boardmate board.

You could also try and update the firmware to the board.

Firstly, test the boards with a selection of pens from boards that work... you never know... and wonky pens can give some strange results.

 

Double-check that the boards are completely flat... we had problems with a board that started to delaminate. Fortunately, it was still under guarantee.

 

I have a selection of ActivPrimary CDs for various versions. PM me if you can't find a CD for a re-install... I'm quite likely to have the version you need!

Had 2 boards do the same thing this week.

 

Unplugged the board and any other USB devices, in device manager delete all USB entries. Restart laptop all the USB ports will be refound. Plugin the board and it will be refound.

 

Boards now calibrating correctly
