Alawil Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Does anyone purchase directly from Lenovo, if so do you have a contact in their public sector/education team you could share please?
BKGarry Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I don't think you can purchase direct, all purchases are through resellers there
Alawil Posted June 2 Author Posted June 2 which reseller do you use? I was speaking with them direct but they then decided, after several quotes, that i needed to speak with their public sector and education team, its now gone quiet.
BKGarry Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I went with Stone/Converge for this, as the account manager we have there is really good 1
Synkrox Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I've purchased direct but you are limited to - I think 5 - units? I did once find their online pricing MUCH cheaper than through reseller - bid pricing didn't come close. It took some wrangling but after some back and forth eventually got the price matched.
DalekSec Posted June 2 Posted June 2 We use System Active (we're non-edu though) but they are a Lenovo Reseller and our account manager is amazing
psydii Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) Probrand seem to have a very good relationship with Lenovo, and seem (to me) very good at matching Lenovo's portfolio to our requirements. Edited June 2 by psydii
chazzy2501 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I've purchased direct and via suppliers. We bought some PCs direct from the website, we got about £110 in credit vouchers for the purchase and traded them for laptops bags! We used the "ProBusiness Store" to buy 4x (IdeaCentre Gen 10) for around £420 exVAT in February this year. They were co-pilot plus desktops with 16GB DDR5 and cheap at the time but not business class. (they did pxe boot and install so I'm mostly happy)
Dos_Box Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Going to change the thread title to 'Lenovo direct purchasing - Anyone got any contacts?' Please keep your thread titles as informative as possible please, it does help people help you better.
Alawil Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Just an update on this, after being passed from the SMB team at Lenovo to the Education Team, and back to the SMB team we have abandoned trying to work directly with Lenovo... With that said we took a bit of a u-turn and have just placed an order for some lovely Lenovo devices from our friends at ICT Direct - Dave has been fantastic and we accomplished more in a couple of days with him than we were able to with Lenovo in over 3 weeks! Many thanks for everyone that reached out. 1 2

I found this as well. Got the SMB team who said they could help me & quoted me some devices. I wanted a different model & was told I could only purchase if I was in education. Which er.. given my email address and email signature showed that I was. Was then passed over to the education team & didn't get anywhere, even after chasing a few times. Ended up going to a reseller for other kit instead. It's really annoying - One of the best things about Dell is you can work directly with them & easily configure/purchase kit via their premier stuff. Lenovo you go on their website & everything is forever listed as out of stock or you get bounced around. The kit is great, but the sales experience isn't.
garethEds Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Not sure if it helps, but this arrived in my inbox on Monday: Quote Hello Mr. Edmondson, My name is Elena, and I’m a Customer Demand Specialist at Lenovo covering the UK and Ireland. Thank you for taking the time to visit the Lenovo stand at BETT 2026. We enjoyed showcasing our latest digital learning solutions across devices, collaboration, and infrastructure. I would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your organization’s specific goals and discuss how we might support your upcoming projects. Would you be interested in a call with an expert to discuss any specific requirements you're currently exploring? Kind regards, Elena The return email address was: [email protected] Not sure if she would be a direct contact for purchase but our main contact is Alex Budden ([email protected]) however he usually tells us to approach a reseller for a quote and he will work with them.
Alawil Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 thanks, the problem i found is that the reseller pricing is considerably more than that which was being offered by the Lenovo SMB team (we were seeing 36-41% less). As someone else said Dell is super easy to work with, on the other hand Lenovo has been a nightmare - even trying to get quotes that actually include what we asked for has been challenging. Another problem we had was a quote would be issued and a couple of hours later the pricing would change! Anyhow, we have used ICT Direct before, and i'm glad we had that realization this time.
denzal2k4 Posted June 9 Posted June 9 We recently signed up for Lenovo Pro, and our contact is Sean: [email protected] (SMB account manager) he has been very useful and signing up was pretty easy, don't remember having to explicitly say we are a school. We got a quote on the site which immediately had 5% off I went back to him and he knocked some more money off, they also do tiered rewards I think its if you spend £5k in a year you get either 8 or 12% off everything over that.
