For the last five months we have had a ticket open with Impero for a bug in their client (v8.6.25) on Windows 11, which they have acknowledged and are yet to fix. The problem is that the Impero client request assistance button steals focus away from the Windows login screen - meaning that touching the keyboard / pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del does not work, until you Alt-Tab or click the mouse to restore focus.

The only bespoke setting we have is the Windows screen sleep time is extended to 900 seconds. However, even leaving this at default results in the same problem - both on our image and a vanilla install across multiple hardware vendors.

Have others moved forward with Win 11 and this client? Anyone else seen the issue?

Exactly! Thank-you for the reply. We have the assistance button disabled and per Impero, although it is disabled... It actually does appear regardless and then supresses / hides the button, rather than simply not loading at all.If you try Alt-Tab at the Windows login screen, you may / will notice it running.

The request assistance button is a pain the the buttocks, it comes up here even though we've supposedly got it turned off!

Absolutely, we have the same issue here. Also (and this has had a ticket open since 2022) in a remote control session many options from the start menu (log off, restart, shut down among them) require two clicks of the left mouse button. They have done remote sessions to see the bug and confirmed it is an issue but show no interest in fixing it.

I suspect they don't know how to fix it as a lot of the original software engineers quit and set up their own classroom management software businesses instead.

Looking on their website Education Pro isn't listed anymore.... something called Backdrop.... news to me lol

We're having issues with Imperos' Contentkeeper and Education Pro. Infact i have a remote session with them today.

Looks like they have been bought-out or in a merger as they are called "Ativion" now..... hopefully they wont tombstone all the stuff we bought into a year ago for 3 years!

I'm seeing a bug on Windows 11 24H2 where its not recognising the logged on user. It then either "greys out" on Impero or the service crashes. A restart usually resolves it but then it does the same again.

Not feeling confident about a fix if the above replies are true about engineers etc

I'm currently running v8.6.26 and haven't experienced any of the bugs mentioned here, though I am finding a lot of deployment issues of the client to Windows 11 devices, specifically where Impero will install but the service will not start. I'd estimate about 85%-90% of devices work without issue and the rest encounter this issue. The only solution is to uninstall the Impero client, restart and then install it again (a reboot is necessary, otherwise the service will still not start).

We've had this "bug" in multiple version over the years, but normally is fine on reboot. Even their guardian service can't start the impero service otherwise... this is on W10 and W11 devices

i suspect that education pro will be killed off and the "new" offering will be pushed..... https://www.imperosoftware.com/impero-classroom-management-software/

I asked this exact question three months ago as we're very concerned that this was/is going to happen. I was told Education Pro is still an active product of Ativion for the forseeable future Our product team continues to develop and enhance the product as expected.

I really hope they don't discontinue Education Pro - we heavily rely on it and are looking to get it for more schools within our trust.

We got told the same that it will be within the Ativion portfolio.

There isn't really any other solutions that can do what Education Pro can do.

If they are will be interested what it'll be, hoping similar to EdPro. If they do might have to go to Bett too to see if it's any good.

Hopefully they'll continue supporting EdPro too
