Hi all

We are still waiting for our eligibility keys for sims, so maybe this is a reason but today all our schools which have their own 2016 sql db hosted had slow (1-2 min load times) on sims.

Anyone had anything occur today on their sims which might elude to a date bug of today maybe ?

We haven’t applied the latest census patch as we don’t want to while we have no key.

Thanks

John

I had numerous speed complaints today, taking up to 10 minutes to load SIMS, 2 hours to complete tasks, etc

Usual response from SIPS, run re-index patch blah blah.

Odd thing is that SIMS instance on the server was loading quickly and running tasks fine, but SIMS instances on other devices were dog slow.

We've been pulling our hair out with this issue since yesterday..rebooted switches/SIMS server etc!! Didn't even think about Senso. What's ironic, we even have a troubleshooting section on our whiteboard with Senso as the first check! haha .. That's solved the problem for us!

Thanks for that, What a pain!

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing this. I work for an MSP that supports SIMS and Senso and this was driving us crazy at a bunch of our schools trying to figure out the problem. Much appreciated.

Do any of you happen to be using Senso by any chance?

They did a module update on Tuesday that unfortunately caused some local network issues, one of them being very slow Sims.

Not sure if they rolled update out last night to fix this but if you still having issue this morning, you can look at link below to fix this until they released update.

You sir, are a lifesaver!

We have been having the same slowness, it seems to be affecting other things at times too. I should have thought to check Senso, especially after nearly a whole year of it causing network issues with Sophos a while back.

That's why I love EduGeek! If you speak up (even when you might sound dumb) there is always someone who has got the T-shirt, been there and done it, before you have to make the same mistakes or spend hours trying things. :)

We have a very controlled network so things like our slow sims made me wonder why not post it, we hadn't changed anything and all three sites have their own servers/networks - did make me wonder if there was a bug, but clearly not in SIMS but in Senso.

Yes, it wasn't just affecting Sims, we had reports of slowness with Emails, Printing, OneDrive and main one for me was my local copy of Hyper-V on my desktop the VMs were unresponsive or sluggish.

I worked with Senso support yesterday looking at the issue at large, I had been keeping eye on here in case anyone was reporting similar issues, I feel bad for not posting something sooner about this.

We've also seen slowness in printing over the last couple of days with SENSO. Removing the SENSO client fixed the printing instantly.
