Morning,

Had loads of alerts over night of devices disconnecting and reconnecting. I believe that our LL is with Sky also.

So you've got this thread about constant issues and no reply from SB and yet there actually logged into the forum daily, touting for business in other broadband threads?

I'd be miffed if I was a customer.

I have been well beyond ‘miffed’ for months.

Are you having issues yesterday/today @sigma? Ours today we seem to have a connection although either Netsweeper or something else is hindering the ability of staff to use the internet as expected. Online meetings can't be joined, web pages open with an error and then if you refresh or try again it works...

Our internet keeps going up and down in all 3 of our schools (we all use talk straight)

If you bypass the netsweeper its fine. But we need that for proper filtering :(

SBB/TS connection here - been fine over the past few days. Seems to be netsweeper causing the issues?

This is why I stuck with onprem filtering, i've heard nothing but problems with netsweeper.

I’m not aware of any connectivity issues at the moment.

Our issues are about time taken respond to look at, never mind resolve support tickets and their Netsweeper configuration, which forces inappropriate filtering, both blocking curriculum content content in ways that cannot be safely unblocked and various inappropriate whilelistings that override of our specific category and our shared list blocks. If you try a search engine other than Google or Bing, you can see how much is actually filtered by the respective safe searches by Google and Bing, but there is no Google or Bing report where you can see what was really filtered. Netsweeper, while a good product is currently just a lash-up on the top.

They chopped our scheduled reports at the end of last term. Normal service has yet to resume for the scheduled safeguarding report. Fortunately, I have my own demand reports to cover it.

I don’t think that unless Dave Tindall (who does get things done), is in the Office, nobody else from SBB ever looks here.

@SchoolsBroadband Anything to offer at all please?

Updates are on status 1061 on the hub portal.

Having briefly spoken to the NOC team they're investigating a Netsweeper policy server issue. I don't have anything more than that I'm afraid at the moment other than its a P1 priority so our NOC engineers are on it.

Thanks

Dave

Yes! Main line was completely down and luckily we had the back line appointment on Friday and with the help of the lad who was booked to work with us managed to get that up and running. We're still on the backup line today.

The support is.....

One of the our other sites are still experiencing issues and we've resorted to their old provider while we still have it.

The other that was having issues seems to be ok.

No, but my scheduled Safeguarding Report that arrived (mostly), daily until the end of last term was deleted by SBB over the Easter break and since I'm not allowed to schedule my own reports I'm still waiting for it to be reinstated.

That SBB still whitelist Twitter images, and now whitelist Google image search thumbnails - relying on Google Safe Search to filter harmful material - which still allows unwated images that would be category or otherwise blocked (overriding our shared list blocks), continues to demonstrate that Safeguarding is one thing they really don't take seriously, regardless of the marketing fluff.
