bknaggs Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 Has anyone else seen this? This appears to have started happening today. Using Smoothwall cloud filter with an advert blocking policy in place I now can't make a YouTube video play full screen - the screen just goes black. If I use incognito mode where the extension is disabled adverts play and I can go full screen. Using the local box instead of the cloud filter with the same policies in place adverts are blocked and YouTube plays full screen video.
Primus Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 (edited) We've seen similar happen this week and had to turn off the content modification actions for staff to fix it. Edited March 6, 2024 by Primus
tom_newton Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 We are investigating this -update when I have it 2
bknaggs Posted March 7, 2024 Author Posted March 7, 2024 We are investigating this -update when I have it The response back from first line support asking for my inside leg measurements suggests otherwise. Otherwise thank you.
dobsonl Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 @tom_newton Do you need everyone to log this or will you update here? and if so is there a reference we can quote to stop 1st line asking for the world?
tom_newton Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Nah, it's already a high priority fix - I'll let you know what the craic is ASAP 2
tom_newton Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 We've identified a fix and there will be a hotfix of the chrome extension out within a few days 1
brunoandrade98 Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Hi Tom, When can we expect the fix to be released? Also, does the extension update automatically? We're having the same issue in our school. Many thanks
ibpalle Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 It will update automatically. Once the fix is done, it will be released. Hopefully within a few days. 1
bknaggs Posted March 19, 2024 Author Posted March 19, 2024 Are we any closer to the fix being pushed out? I updated to Leeds 72 overnight if that makes any difference.
tom_newton Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 Next few days - it is fixed, but the release is queued behind the 2.3.0 release, as the fix just missed the window for that, so expect 2.30. probably this week, and 2.3.1 next 1
brunoandrade98 Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Hi, has the update been released yet? We're still having this issue in our school.
matt_shakespeare Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Hi, has the update been released yet? We're still having this issue in our school. The update has been released this afternoon.
sparker1977 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Is there a fix for the Edge browser? Thanks
tom_newton Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Do you have a support ticket? I will raise it - but both browsers updates are released close to one another
sparker1977 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Yes we have a ticket raised with SW regarding the issue of the AD blocker, my colleague has been dealing with it for a few weeks but we have yet to find a solution
ITB0SS Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Hi, is this broken again, ads in our school are no longer being blocked, I believe was all working fine before Egde had an update, anyone else got YouTube ads appearing? I've triple checked all the content modification stuff.
tom_newton Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 Ad blocking in youtube is becoming impossible we think - obviously google dont want us to do this
ITB0SS Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 Ok thanks Tom, for now I have deployed Ublock origin.
