MatthewL Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Got a new phone due anytime soon, my trust 3.5 jack headphones will become redundant, any recommendations on ear buds? It's the Google Pixel 8 Pro I've gone for, I suppose I have to move with the times if thats the phone I have chosen, just don't want to spend over the odds for something I don't use loads unless this will transform my use. I've had a few recommendations for the Samsung ones and I know there was a deal for buds available on some discount places if I got the S23 but I chose what I did! Any personal recommendations, battery life, fit in the ear etc.
timbo343 Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 (edited) I bought some of these because they were cheap - Lenovo GM2 - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/1005006265103334.html and i must say the bass and clarity is amazing for the price! They are in chinese and the voice that tells you you're in game mode cannot be changed to English but this does not affect the way they sound. I then bought the LP3 but they sound muffled compared to the GM2. I was looking at the GM3 but decided to stop spending. I've had the TaoTronics TT-BH06 for years and been happy with them! You could buy a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Headphone-Charging-Adapter-Compatible-Samsung/dp/B0B153HVS3/ref=asc_df_B0B153HVS3/ - mum boufht one of these and works fine. MatthewL Posted January 2, 2024 Author Posted January 2, 2024 Thanks, I had considering a adapter but time to upgrade I think. They seem to vary in cost so much.
andy_b Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 If you want cheap, something like this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BTYCRJSS (£15) I got the Pixel Buds Pro Free with my Pixel 7, they are ok, I think for a similar cost my Sony Linkbuds S fit in my ear better. (£140 ish) If you want to spend more the Sony WF-1000XM5 are probably the best around (£220 ish) Without some kind of price point difficult.
Rob_D Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 I've had pretty good milage out of the Xway earbuds that amazon always seem to have on sale. Although, as someone who's not a fan of the "earplug type" headphones, I've found the airpod (or airpod type design) the most comfortable.

I ended up buying the P20i ones, currently £25 but I got them for £15. They are absolutley spot onfor what I need, just as good as the wired ones I got back in the day with a previous phone, might be cheap but I wouldn't want to pay any more these are absolutley spot on. 2
Brixy Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 I would look out for a black friday sale - they should be coming up soon.
Brixy Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Are you sure earbuds suit your needs - wireless headphones can be more comfortable and when in the car you may be able to connect to your cars speaker system.
andy_b Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Are you sure earbuds suit your needs - wireless headphones can be more comfortable and when in the car you may be able to connect to your cars speaker system. What on earth do you mean Mr Bot?
Brixy Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I guess I am speaking personally, not much a fan of using buds myself. In the car my phone just automatically links via bluetooth to hands free and when at home I find headphones more comfortable.
chazzy2501 Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) iphone earbuds (wired) are actually really good. They make usbc versions now £19 from Apple Direct. (as many are cheap sounding fakes, only get from Apple!) EDIt: Not even from Amazon, only apple! Edited November 20, 2024 by chazzy2501
Rob_D Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I prefer headphones to earbuds too, but I've struggled finding a wireless set that aren't the giant DJ/flight controller type.

Andycat Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I've had a few pairs but resorted to a USB C DAC and all my normal headphones. No latency, far better sound! 1
