Dos_Box Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 (edited) It seems that Amazon are to have another couple of days of offers for Prime customers on the 10-11th October. Hopefully there will be some good B550 motherbord deals on as many outlets are now heavily discounting AM4 CPU's and motherboards. And another 16GB RAM might not go amiss as well. Prices for DDR4 RAM are dropping (again, it's the last gen kit being cleared off the shelves). Saying that, it could just be two days of dog hair dryers and third rate gamepads! >> Click here to subscribe to this thread << Edited September 27, 2023 by ZeroHour
DeGrimmy Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Subscribing to this thread in case a decent SATA SSD or two, preferably 2TB, are put on sale - I'm thinking I should probably replace my 10+ year old mechanical HDDs in my home PC sooner rather than later! 2

Do they have to be SATA? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lexar-NM610PRO-Internal-Desktop-Computer/dp/B0BKGBJGMV £70- 10% Otherwise https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07SGBJK7H (but was cheaper so may "just happen" to drop again).
DeGrimmy Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Do they have to be SATA? Unfortunately, my motherboard does that whole "If a second M2 drive is connected, you can't use SATA connections 5 & 6" thing, and I have quite a few SATA-connected things. It's probably easier to replace a SATA HDD with a SATA SSD than have to reconfigure everything. Thanks for the links, I'll check them out!
Dos_Box Posted October 9, 2023 Author Posted October 9, 2023 Just a reminder that the sale starts tomorrow If you see any good deals, then please post them up here!
Zoom7000 Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 The last few Prime days have been terrible for me. A whole load of things on my shopping list and nothing on sale! Hope tomorrow is a better one! 1
chazzy2501 Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 I'd like an SSD for my steamdeck. shorty 1 or 2TB

Hope tomorrow is a better one! Yeah, I've found that too. Hopefully I'll be able to fill my new motherboard needs in the next day or so!
Norphy Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 On the last one, I managed to nab a 27" monitor. I'm half wondering whether I should get a matching one, assuming the same one is on sale again.

Zoom7000 Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Think of all the money you've saved! No, worse, I think of all the reduced cost I missed out on for stuff that I inevitably bought at a higher price! 🙈
LeMarchand Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Down to £42 and has good reviews. https://www.amazon.co.uk/MECO-ELEVERDE-High-Pressure-Electric-Compressed/dp/B088M6FZH2

Found and ordered a WD Blue 2TB SATA SSD for £70. Not as cheap as I'd hoped, but a reputable brand and reduced by 27%, apparently. There was also a good deal on a Samsung SATA SSD, but it was fractionally more expensive than the WD and ran at the same speeds, as far as I saw. 1
Dos_Box Posted October 10, 2023 Author Posted October 10, 2023 There are a few B550 motherboards on there, and I may take a punt on this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-MAG-B550-TOMAHAWK-Motherboard/dp/B08B4V583Q/ref=sr_1_5?crid=CLAR6MHCNK71&keywords=b550+motherboard&psr=PDAY&qid=1696930377&s=pbdd&sprefix=b550+motherboard%2Cpbdd%2C51&sr=1-5 No Wi-Fi though, so I may hold back to see if any others get added later.
chazzy2501 Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Look at this bold faced lie! I've been looking at this for a few weeks and it's always been £38-£42 now it is reduced from £106.99! I was going to make a complaint to ASA but they want you to read a 17 page form before a submission. (basically made so no one bothers them)

Horizontalmatt Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Amazon is always guilty of doing this. Sometimes they will also hike the price up after the sale so people don't notice. Always worth checking on camelcamelcamel.com to make sure you are actually getting a good deal
