aac Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Hi there After upgrading the UniFi controller to v7.4.162 devices are not appearing for adoption. Worryingly even if I forget a known device I cannot get it to appear for adoption. Has anyone else come across this yet?
aac Posted July 13, 2023 Author Posted July 13, 2023 I can see it is picking up an IP address from DHCP
LeMarchand Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 If your APs aren't new, does the controller support them? Have you tried resetting a device or using SSH to remote in and try adoption? Both a PITA if you've got a load!
aac Posted July 13, 2023 Author Posted July 13, 2023 Even a brand new device I have just taken out of the box does not show for adoption but this is also affecting devices that were previously used.
Oaktech Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Has anything else about your setup changed? Does the 'unifi' dns entry still work?
aac Posted July 13, 2023 Author Posted July 13, 2023 Nothing atall has changed it is really bizzare. DNS entry is still working.
Michael Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 I've not observed any issues with v7.4.162 at multiple sites - all CKs.
speakercon Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Are the AP's on the same subnet/vlan as the controller?
PrimaryNetMan Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Software controller Windows Check ports 8080/tcp and 10001/udp open in the firewall/anti-virus software on your windows host.
aac Posted July 13, 2023 Author Posted July 13, 2023 Thankyou for your response. In the end a DNS record was needed to get it all working again for unifi pointing to servers IP address. Not sure why this worked fine without the records prior to the upgrade however all is now working as normal... 1
