ActivPanel 65 shaow over half the screen

Hello,

 

as topic states i have an ActivPanel 65 (AP4) which has a grey shadow over the left hand side of the screen. You can still make out icons if you look closely but obviously something needs fixing.

I have tested using new HDMI cable on the teachers PC as well as connecting my laptop directly - the issue follows whichever device or cable is used - have upgraded firmware (now on BT V2.01 V6.17) and still the same issue? i think it is out of warranty so is there anything else i can try

Hi

It sounds like the back lights have failed on part of the display. Software will not fix the issue it would need to be repaired.

You can contact Promethean support and they can tell you if the panel is in or out of warranty and a quote for repair if out of warranty.

I’ve had the same issue with two screens though it was on the right hand side of the screen.

 

For sure a backlight failure. Had to replace both screens as out of warranty

They wont repair just provide you a not new replacement at more than new cost. Education price is around 1.3k for 65 /4k. Promo offer on 1 per site for non education pricing is under that and nearer 1k mark.

as gaz350b suggested repaired board is just a couple of hundred quid cheaper than a new board so am assuming the school will go for a new one

sorry, don't know of any repair companies - the school just ended up buying a new board
