Hi all,

Simple question.

Is a 4GB Ram Domain Controller ok to manage 20 clients?

Thanks.

Ours are dynamically allocated and rarely exceed 3.5gb

It’s got a pretty fast SSD in there so GUI wise It should be fine.

Thanks for all your replies :-)

I'm too lazy to check the sizing guidelines, but I'm pretty sure I recall deploying DCs with 8GB servicing tens of thousands of users, so I think you'll be fine. the question is though, why bother?

1000 users here. The physical DC has 8Gb RAM but the virtual one hovers around 3Gb dynamically assigned RAM (it can go up to 8). It only increases during updating.

250 clients.

Physical DC is 2016, has 8GB and runs around 2-2.5gb, Virtual DC is 2012r2 core and has dynamically assigned 8GB, it hovers just over a gig most of the time.
