Hi

We're about to swap Engineering and ICT/H&SC departments (between two buildings) over the next 12 months which gives me a blank slate for 3 brand new IT suites including new PCs.

Below is our default benching everywhere else with custom legs (2 per stack, 2 chairs between each stack) but kids are constantly pulling wires out from behind or in front, or the PCs 'fall' off the legs.

Has anyone got any nice solutions that work well for them that achieve the balance of tidiness whilst still being at least reasonably accessible to IT Support, under lock & key or otherwise?

We used 900mm worktop on top of custom legs which sat far enough back you wouldn't bang your legs. Trunking on top with the middle row of computers have the trunking down the middle so no cables can fall off the back of the desk etc. They always stay on the worktop.

PC wise we have VeryPC Micros attached to the back of monitors which have a cable cover so students can't pull out cables. They can still play with the power adapter and screen cables mind so it's not perfect, but working well for us.

Only one of my sites still has a suite, but it's VPC Flex PCs too. The "cage" is heaven sent, and the only thing that gets fiddled with regularly is the 3.5mm audio into the screen speakers as most of the rest is "locked up". Our suite has never looked that tidy sice we took the "our new suite" pictures, though - did you fix the stands to the top?

To be fair, this was when it was new, ha. Although three years in now and it's still not looking bad at all. No the stands are not fixed down. They do like to move them around a bit but the network cables stop them going to far. Each PC lines up with a double socket so it's easy to put them back in position to pander to my CDO (OCD).
