Will you be buying the iPhone 13?

I decided on the blue, it was the only one they had in stock and I didn't want to wait a till November for the graphite 256gb. From some of the videos I've seen, it can look more silver in certain lighting. Will also be a nice change from the usual 'dull' colours I always tend to end up with.

 

Anyway, if I don't like it, I'll stick a case or a skin on it.

just upgraded from an SE to the SE2020 for £180 4 more years of support from Apple...Great. Also a fingerprint reader. I'm never not in front of a PC so I don't need a large phone.

Bought an iPhone 13 Mini last month to replace my OnePlus 5. Pretty impressed with it.

 

I'd have considered a Google Pixel 6 if there was a smaller version but the regular one was larger than the OnePlus5 I had which I already felt was too big.

I have an iPhone 12 and would say that the iPhone 11, 12 and 13 are so similar that you may easily never notice the difference. Especially not cosmetically.

Only difference would be slight processor speeds and the occasional feature you'll never use.

I've got the 12 and it's only really the Camera on the Pro I'd upgrade for. I'll see what the 14 offers next year TBH. Almost surprised they don't switch to a 2-year cycle as the differences recently have been pretty marginal. Storage bump was probably the most useful upgrade.

Over 2 months in with the 13 Pro Max - well worth the price in my opinion.

 

The high refresh rate screen is wonderful, and the battery life is brilliant - often going 2 or 3 days without charging.

 

Coming from Android did involve some growing pains but I haven't found that I've really missed anything. Gone are the days of iOS being overly locked down and restrictive ( Remember the days of being unable to set your own wallpaper?).

 

Gestures are taking some time to get the hang of still as the margin between one action or another is very small, and can be a tad frustrating at times.

I think the pandemic has slowed a lot of things down in progress in phones.

 

If you have an iPhone 12 then I wouldnt be thinking of upgrading until atleast the 14......assuming they remove the notch, bump up the camera quality

 

I'm saving up for the 13 Pro that I'll probably get after Christmas now.

There isn't a huge amount of difference between the 12 and the 13, but the 12 is very different cosmetically to the X/11. The X/XR/11 all use similar design language to the iPhone 6/7/8 with rounded edges whereas the 12 uses a more iPhone 5-like design with the square edges.

I think it's safe to say that progress with mobile phones has been stagnant for a long time, even before the pandemic. Everything for the past five years or more I'd say have been refinements rather than a major shift in design or a new killer feature.

Apple seem to have recaptured my loyalty to the iPhone brand. Went from iPhone 7 to Pixel 3XL to iPhone 11. Now my upgrade urges seem to be set on the iPhone 13 PRO. That cinematic mode and ProRes is a game changer for how much media and content I create, as well as capturing low light photos at gigs and festivals.

 

Hoping for a 13 Pro refurb to pop up at a steal of a price, and sign up to a Smarty SIM only, their data packages are incredible value.

I think this can we said for the technology sector as a whole. There hasn’t been the innovation that was seen in previous times. It’s been mostly refinements and improvements.

I go a 13 in September, after previously having a 5S since 2013.
