Its just annoying that you cant adjust the brightness during the build process. Can make it much harder to correctly enter that complex WiFi password you set up to keep kids off it. No all its doing is keeping us off it:D -
Had a similar issue with the brightness. It does seem to be 9th Gens with some cases. Could look into turning off auto brightness and just setting it to a constant level you're happy with.

Unfortunately Apple have not got the same level of humour as there is no feature when you dial the number on an iPhone

I have an iPhone 12 and would say that the iPhone 11, 12 and 13 are so similar that you may easily never notice the difference. Especially not cosmetically. Only difference would be slight processor speeds and the occasional feature you'll never use.
