mikeprice Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 What the actual.... This is actually crazy! Could be worse have you heard about 5G and Covid p.s. do NOT mention this to 'that parent'
3s-gtech Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 If these people only knew how much ionising radiation they were exposed to from natural sources (and stuff like Chernobyl and the sun - actual potentially harmful radiation) would they be able to put wifi into context, or would they shut themselves in a foil lined (dark) room?
Andrew_C Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 I'd suggest she get her child checked by an expert to prove they do/don't respond in a normal way to such small amounts of radiation, The only "expert" you'll find prepared to test this, will be drooling and wearing a tin-foil hat already.
mavhc Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 To avoid radiation during the school play we have blacked out all the windows and turned off all the lights. We now present: A History of Mime
caffrey Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 We had similar a while back but they were complaining about ozone emissions from photocopiers...
mavhc Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 That's a real thing though, and most people don't have proper ventilation for their photocopiers https://neu.org.uk/advice/photocopiers-schools
thimon Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 That's a real thing though, and most people don't have proper ventilation for their photocopiers https://neu.org.uk/advice/photocopiers-schools That article is heavily on the side of teachers!
RobD Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 I like example of power from an AP: https://twitter.com/MacDeryng/status/1205091433088200705/photo/1 So basically stand under a AP and recieve 0.025Ws of power where as you stand 50m from a FM transmitter and you'll receive 12.6W of power.
Primus Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 That article is heavily on the side of teachers! Shock - union where the majority of members are teachers has an article discussing issues relating to the majority of members. The article points out the health risks to ALL staff and how photocopying is not something teaching staff can be directed to do.
