ranj Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Hi I have created an internet policy to send out to parents, but need to design the letter so thats its an opt out instead of an opt in for the services. But as u know in IT, I am not handy with writing skills so am struggling a bit. Just wondering if somone might have already have done one and could give me some points. I want to do the letter so that parents only need to sign the agreement if they are NOT happy for their child to use the internet. Hope this helps Ranj
beeswax Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 in my view, and from what I've come across in the past, I think it's better to have an opt-in. If you go down that path then you can have an AUP (Acceptable Use® Policy) which details what the pupil can and cannot do, the responsibilities of all parties, and the knowledge that the pupil will be aware that his/her internet usage will be monitored, and where appropriate, recorded. There's a thread to do with this somewhere on the site. I'll have a look for it later. beeswax

MkII Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 There are examples on the wiki here. Please add yours. Maybe start a new one for your letter so that everyone can work on it.
