To be fair, I once wrote a better driver than them by falling asleep on the keyboard, then saving the result as .sys.

It is worth keeping an eye out for new machines emerging from OEMs and seeing what wifi cards are fitted - then checking their support pages to see if they have a newer revision.

Well, it's been three weeks now and no wi-fi problems (other than the user error kind). Our laptops never shutdown, they just go to sleep and occasionally wake up to check for updates. I wonder it that's a factor. Edited by Squelch

Quick update - We didn't have the problem for the rest of the week on the devices we installed 2024.0.8.127 on. Over the half term I have rolled it out to the rest of my devices and will let you know how I go.

Stone (where I purchased them from) found this version and have been very helpful. I am still awaiting any sort of suggestion at all from Lenovo themselves who I logged a ticket with about 5 weeks ago. So far all they have said is "There is no update on this yet", and closed my ticket once without telling me.

I am never purchasing Lenovos again, but will happily purchase from Stone again.

(This is not a sponsored post or anything, I stand to gain nothing from it, it is simply recognition where recognition is due)

Could someone provide a link to the version that appears to be working? The last one I tried was from the HP website and I'm still getting reports of them losing connection

Thanks

Has the new driver resolved everyone's problems? I've installed 2024.0.8.127 and still seeing a significant number of the devices randomly losing connection, sometimes requiring a restart before connecting again. We have 70 of these V15-iil laptops and I'd say we're still having problems with about 15 of them. Anyone else or have I just got a bad batch

Thanks

2024.0.8.127 has fixed everything for me on all 120 of them.

Incidentally, I still have heard nothing back from Lenovo. Their support is shocking.

Even though this is now sorted, I didn't tell Lenovo as they just hadn't been in touch with me at all so I didn't see why I should. I replied to the ticket's email yesterday just saying "Hello?" and got an email back today telling me they were working on it "rapidly" and they would get back to me. Over two months ago I logged that! Not my idea of rapid!

I've been emailing Lenovo every now and then and they've always just come back with "We have no progress but are investigating" type emails. Today when I sent them another poke they asked me what the problem was, which was a little frustrating, but I told them what it was. They then replied again asking for serial numbers and proof of purchase, which I sent them in September but re-sent today anyway, and then they replied *again* asking if they could have a unit to test! I am now just going to reply saying "We've fixed this now, you can close the call" and leave it at that. Or does anyone have any better suggestions?

Updating the drivers to the latest available from the Microsoft Catalogue resolved this for us

Sorry to hijack this thread but has anyone found the keyboards on these devices to be a bit flimsy?! We`ve had keys randomly fall off, without any student help!

Also, quotes for a new keyboard are £130 currently!! Anyone found any cheaper?
