  1. Has the new driver resolved everyone's problems? I've installed 2024.0.8.127 and still seeing a significant number of the devices randomly losing connection, sometimes requiring a restart before connecting again. We have 70 of these V15-iil laptops and I'd say we're still having problems with about 15 of them. Anyone else or have I just got a bad batch Thanks
  2. Could someone provide a link to the version that appears to be working? The last one I tried was from the HP website and I'm still getting reports of them losing connection Thanks
  3. Any got a solution to this? Thanks
  4. Anyone got a driver that works reliably for these, we bought 70 over the summer and the reliability of them isn't going down well. Current driver has the following details: model: Realtek 8822CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC Driver Version: 2024.0.8.122 Driver Date: 27/04/2020 Anyone found a better driver?
  5. Anyone know if you can opt out of the free trial when installing the basic version of notebook 19.1? Wouldn't want users to create something they then can't use after the 45 day trial
  6. Thanks for the replies, if someone has already been through a document and redacted the text by covering it with the "text highlighter" tool, so that it looks like it's been covered over, is there a way to "flatten" the document so this can't be undone. Also if the sensitive information is changed with text i.e. "redacted" or "xxxxxx". why would it then need to be exported as a pdf? thanks
  7. Hi All, Is it possible to redact text in a word document so that it can be emailed, without the recipient being able to "undo" the changes. So, I have a document which has sensitive information redacted. So far we have taken a screen shot of the document and then sent that, just wondering if there is a better way for if there is a document with many pages? Thanks, Mike
  8. Also watching "you" after a couple of friends recommending. I'm about 5 episodes in and it's great so far, very well made
  9. Ozark on Netflix would be my recommendation. Two series with I believe a third on it's way, excellent watch
  10. Are these no longer available? I'm at an Academy and although we follow county guidelines, I'm not sure we have access to such document Thanks, Mike
  11. Sorry to bring up an old post, but could anyone provide a 2018 version of this? thanks, Mike
  12. Has no one had anything in way of training regarding this? Just buy the tools and watch a video? Can anyone recommend suppliers for the screens as this will only be worth doing if I can get hold of decent screens cheap enough
  13. Hi All, Just wondering whether anyone on here has tried repairing ipads themselves (specifically screens). Currently any broken screens here are sent away to a repair company, but as we buy in more and more ipads, there are more being sent away. I've thought about suggesting the school send me on training and then I can just do repairs to save money and turn over time, but would like to hear some opinions. TIA Mike
  14. I'd be interested to know if anyone on here has managed to sell / scrap their old kit for money. Our school just get a registered waste collection service to come and pick the lot up for free when we have too much to store but I'm sure they'd use someone else if there's money to be made. Seen a few youtube videos of people taking motherboards in bulk to the scrap and making a fair amount of money but they seem to be either USA or AUS based so not sure of that type of thing is available in the uk. Also as far as servers are concerned is there some requirement of schools having to keep them for a period of time or as long as the information is backed up and then wiped can they be sold too?
  15. we have somewhere around 100 so listing and posting them individually through ebay could be a chore, but better than just binning as seems a waste. I was thinking of possibly doing a job lot but then posting could be an issue. could resellers / repairers / refurbishers be interested in them? or Am I unlikely to get rid of them in one go
  16. We've accumulated a lot of ipad boxes over the last few years and I was just wondering whether anyone has done anything with theirs or if they've just been binned / recycled. I've had a quick look on ebay and they do sell (like anything with an apple sticker does) but not sure it's worth the effort Any thoughts?

    Pokémon: GO

my code is 7147 8390 8072 The new gifting system makes it much easier for rural players to keep a stock of items, like it
  18. Are they NEC projectors? if so did the lamp timer run out before you changed the lamp i.e. hit 0 hours remaining. As with a few models you have to hold down the "help" button on the projector remote to get the timer to reset
  19. This thread has helped me massively as our school wasn't happy with the wordpad option. I do still have 1 problem though. There doesn't seem to be a gpo setting to disable "Capitalize first letter of table cells" check box. Which mean that the first letter of each paragraph will be auto corrected to be a Capital. Anyone found some sort of reg hack for this? I have googled it but can't find anything that works ps I'm using word 2013, not sure if the gpo settings are different to the 2010 version Thanks, Mike
  20. Anyone successfully using mathswatch through a sophos utm? I'm not really wanting to allow kids full access to vimeo
  21. Hi guys, Currently looking at ways I could earn a little extra in my spare time and have seen a few (what look like legit) work from home opportunities evaluating websites / search results. I've just applied to Lionbridge and will be sent the exam details this week. Was just wondering if anyone on here either has experience working for Lionbridge (or similar companies like leapforce, appen) and whether it is worth my time completing the exam, I've done a bit of googling and reviews are mixed so was hoping someone on here might have worked for these before or be currently doing this type of work. If not, anyone on here know of any legit work from home jobs, or do anything in their spare time to supplement their income? Cheers, Mike
  22. I've just imaged a few of these, the only program I could find that worked was the 64-bit version of clonezilla, we would usually use wds or acronis but the lack of an ethernet port scuppered wds and acronis told me it didn't support the disk type Mike
  23. pm sent to bossman, but out of interest are there any other software packages that people would recommend that rival the adobe suite thanks, Mike
  24. Hi Guys, We're quite behind the times as far as our software is concerned as we're still making do with adobe CS3 and the Macromedia 2004 suite. So I've just looked into adobe's latest offering of creative cloud, after receiving a quote which obviously includes our educational discount I'm not sure the powers that be are going to greet this £20k+ annual subscription with open arms. So I'm guessing we're not the only school that can't afford this, anyone on here got a good alternative? I was hoping it would still be possible to buy cs6 outright but this does not seem to be the case, anyone else in a similar position? thanks, Mike
  25. Apologies, didn't realise the macro would be so straight forward to set up, haven't tried it yet but will give it a go, thanks. Still can't believe that this function doesn't exist as I'm pretty sure that in a previous version of office maybe office 2000 that once you had initially saved a document it would then save automatically every 10 mins or so thanks, Mike
