Next door not recycling?

How do you bring up the subject of your neighbours not recycling? Every week they are there jumping in the bin. The rubbish crew left there new roll of food waste bags in the drive as there was no bin to put them on do I take them round?

Would all depend on how well you get on with them, personally sounds like they don't give a crap and I wouldn't waste my time.

It sounds like you don’t know your neighbours that well. If you did, you wouldn’t be asking here.

 

Leave well alone. It’s likely to lead to the kind of neighbour dispute that you really don’t want.

Tread carefully here, the chances of a dispute are much higher than a constructive conversation.

 

I know some people who refuse to recycle because (they claim) they believe that the amount of energy required in cleaning and recycling many products is worse for the environment than landfill. Not a theory I subscribe to, but there you go.

 

If your council levies fines for improper use of their bins, they will deal with it.

Yeah I have a neighbour who continually uses my drive to turn round on and asking her not just ended it a torrent of abuse. I think that your conversation could go the same way!

If it is your drive then you have all the right in the world.

 

 

 

As for the receycling, I'd leave them to it. Not worth the time or hassle.

 

 

If on the other hand there is rubbish everywhere and it is causing a problem then contact the council.

I have a good relationship with my neighbours, but, if they came round to tell me how to recycle, I would politely but firmly tell them to mind their own business.

Well you would not want it filling up your own bins so you would drop it in one of your other neighbours recycling surly! Also those bin men are really judgemental and if they notice you are drinking more you will be the talk of the cab...

As a least risky option, you COULD pop around to return the food bags you grabbed by mistake. Otherwise, I'd leave well alone.

Ah fair point, my wife is continually ordering of Amazon I really don't know where it all goes. Some days I think we have turned into an amazon parcel hub!

Down to them if they recycle, ultimately not your business so just move on and let them do what they do.

As above, unless they are filling your bin, don’t get into a neighbour dispute. Amongst other reasons if you do own your house, when you come to sell you have to inform your purchaser.
