mikeprice Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Not sur eif this should be here or the annoying things thread but but I am pretty sure - based on "O' levels, "A" levels and a degree in Chemistry - that alcohol is a liquid whiskey is a solution - but the alcohol is an organic chemical and a decent solvent so is beer and vodka and lots of other alcoholic drinks not a solution 1

jmak Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Alcohol? I always thought it was solvent? So a good bet for a long term relationship...
6Foot2 Posted May 8, 2023 Author Posted May 8, 2023 [Pedant Mode] An alcohol is an organic molecule (organic in the parlance of organic chemistry) which is characterized by the presence of a hydroxyl group (-OH) [/Pedant Mode] 1

LeMarchand Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 I think it's more out of deference to the Beagles that have retrained as guide dogs after rescue from labs and who are struggling to kick the habit.
mikeprice Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 I think it's more out of deference to the Beagles that have retrained as guide dogs after rescue from labs and who are struggling to kick the habit. What were the Labradors doing to the Beagles that they needed rescuing from them???

Jawloms Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 I saw the same for powergenitalia many years ago. Can't remember if it was true or a joke, and I'm not Googling whilst in a school to find out!
6Foot2 Posted May 23, 2023 Author Posted May 23, 2023 (edited) I saw the same for powergenitalia many years ago. Can't remember if it was true or a joke, and I'm not Googling whilst in a school to find out! The VW Instagram page was real (I checked it for my post, from home!) I just checked it again today, and it's not there now. Edit: As far as the "Powergen link" goes, Snopes has a "ruling": Link: Did a UK Power Company Choose an Unfortunate Domain Name for Their Italian Division? | Snopes.com ... the folks at Powergen maintained that they had nothing to do with the choice of domain name and didn't even have an Italian division. The powergenitalia.com domain apparently hosts the web site of a real Italian company (Powergen Italia) ... I checked the PowergenItalia link, and it redirects to a site selling YouTube subscribers for various territories. Edited May 23, 2023 by 6Foot2
