tg12 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 I have applied for a few of these before, as a big motorsport fan. I actually got an interview earlier in the year with a Formula E team. Quite proud of that one.
smurfomatic Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Anyone lucky enough to get the job, or even get called for interview at HQ in Brackley - I work about half a mile away, so (if we're back to "normal" by then) you can call in for a cuppa and a chat!
gh5000 Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Any ideas what a "competitive" salary would be for this?
mikeprice Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 trackside as well - so you get to travel around the world and be at the track for the race - although probably with your head in a monitor anyway - I could do that asked wife - and she is not so keen - I mean who would cook her dinner if I am in Monaco???

tg12 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Any ideas what a "competitive" salary would be for this? From what I've been told, motorsport more works on a "we'll pay you what we believe you're worth" than having a set scale.
Dan_G Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Imagine telling someone important they needed a driver upgrade, and accidentally getting Bottas sacked rather than getting a laptop updated 3
mikeprice Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Imagine telling someone important they needed a driver upgrade, and accidentally getting Bottas sacked rather than getting a laptop updated That would explain Vettel's contract not being renewed???? Nice to see IT people getting listened to:)
Zammo Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 I know two people who work in F1 (one for Renault and one for Mclaren) and both have said the same thing - the trackside jobs are very very demanding. They carry the obvious perks you would imagine but the guys who own those positions live and breathe it. When you go away with the team you are working 15 hour days and you can forget TOIL! Also the weekends of travel dont mean you get days off in the week to compensate Its a young man's game from what I can gather, suitable for those who love what they do and love F1. Great fun, but high intensity.
mikeprice Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I've thrown my hat in to the ring. Red bull ring or Nürburgring??? (actually - both if you get lucky! - Good Luck)
Deanuk Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Forgot to say, I got through to the last round of this. I had an interview down at their Brackley headquarters. Very interesting place, frankly it was an amazing space. I had a tour of the garages and departments etc. Very impressive (as you would imagine). 2
nicholab Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Does seem bad if you don’t get time off in the week working 7 days is bad for you.
