Is it an equal merger or more takeover? scholar pack were picked up by the key werent they ? So cant imagine it would be sold on ? The key picking up Arbor ? Ditto Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Yep, me too. Still haven't seen anything more elsewhere, but it does suggest 'The Key' are (no pun intended) key to the deal. I was aware of them taking on GovernorHub earlier this year and knew of them as a governor advisory service, but MIS systems is an interesting area to pick - they have quite a broad portfolio now.

I really do hope that whoever buys SIMS supports us in the same way Capita does. It also seems that Capita's partner development portal no longer exists. Looks like they took it down.

I hope that too, it must be much easier for you to tell software which is linked to SIMS if you're allowed a copy of SIMS! Plus it would benefit schools if the new owner continue this practice, as it would allow you to test your product against the latest version and pro-actively fix anything which the update has broken, rather than wait for your customers to tell you your product doesn't work any more (the impact of which could be significant, depending on what your product does). 1

SIMS have not removed the Partner Development portal. Integrartion information has been enhanced along with sample code and is available on https://www.sims-partners.com. The admin interface for sample client mangement has been moved to a development specific instance of SIMS ID so the managment process is identical to that of live clients. Information on this can be found both on the sims-partners and on https://id.sims.co.uk/support/wiki/119. As always information on integrating with SIMS Products and those companies that already integrate can be found on the main SIMS Website. 3

Not sure who or the price, but we should be hearing something fairly soon it seems! It's all conjecture till we get the official announcement. iSAMS looks likely to be bought soon too. IRIS also own ParentMail, who have recently farmed out their LiveChat (which was previously really good) to an abroad call centre and it is now terrible! 1

The support is just awful, very slow to react and never have enough people at the beginning of the year. This September I was on hold for around 30-40 minutes each time. I heard good things about iSams. 1

DODICT Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 could be worse could be civica !! - definitely some consolidation going on in the market. maybe a reflection on current state of SIMs. Money is going on backing the challengers and nabbing market share over picking up the mess that is the market leader. but interesting to see juniper and GO4Schools launching a new MIS - the market can only support so many players so will be interesting to see who's left standing in a few years time . . .. 1
