I am thinking about Year 10s returning in some capacity to school this academic year. Has anyone changed the model n Nova T6 half way through the year by adding linked classes. I could then split the classes in half and do something different with the groups What would be the consequences generally with Sims etc assessment manager ? Would the classes still be recognised.

hmmm, I would probably recommend leaving this off Nova and SIMS. Currently we are planning everything on a mix of paper, Excel and whiteboards. Let me know what you do.

I've just received the newsletter, and the same person who made that timetabling software has an 11 page guide on timetabling for the COVID-19. I will start reading this ASAP, and recommend that you do too. https://www.timetabler.com/covid-19/

I'd suggest adding an extra band to your current year group, and scheduling what you want to in that. This would mean that you could export to SIMs if needed, but I'd be inclined to agree with other comments about not bothering with this.

anyone else thought on this? We want to bring Y10 (& 12) back and SLT want new completely new groups, half the size of old groups, new rooms, times, etc. Does this mean building new blocks etc and constructing new timetable for them? exporting to sims. They will only be back for 1 month before break up for hols. But if not then what's the alternative?

You can add a new band to Year 10 (and 12), unschedule everything else, put what you want back in and at then schedule just those classes. At least then you the year groups are assigned correctly for when you populate the classes. But it's basically writing a new timetable, the only silver lining is that it should be easy to schedule. I cannot think of a quicker way....
