I may have to make multiple dashboards but presumably you can duplicate them, and then point new ones to a new google sheet, which itself is copied from a template and taking info from the main dataset but filtered (probably with vlookup) to give just data for that school. I'm now about to start in datastudio....

Thanks David, that's really helpful. Your assumptions on "who" is correct. Google sites may be a good solution, I've not used this before (or workspace) - presumably this is a secure way of holding the data?

Hi, I'm wanting to share data with others, but want to be able to control who can see what. For example, school level data whereby curriculum leaders can see their data but senior leaders have a higher level of access, or trust level data where schools see their info but the trust sees more. I'm competent with Excel, but can only do this by password protecting sheets which is not particularly secure. I want to be able to share information very clearly and graphically. I was wondering what people on here thought the best route was to share data graphically, securely, and with different levels of access. Do I need to learn how to use css or something behind a website, or is google data studio a good solution, or something else entirely? Many thanks, Mark

Thank you - I think we'll do the same, but consider giving them the 5% as whole days from time to time rather than as teaching load.

Morning all, I'm looking into teaching loads for colleagues in their second year, the government is proposing funding so that they can have 5% reduction in teaching load, but I'm unsure as to whether this is teachers starting NQT years in 2021 (so comes into play for teachers in their second year from 2022) or if it should be implemented for September. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-career-framework-reforms-overview/early-career-framework-reforms-overview "From September 2021, the government is funding an entitlement for all early career teachers in England to access high quality professional development at the start of their career. Hi there, Is there a way to get a particular NCC code in T6 to count towards a teacher's load when you right click on edit staff, or look at the classes view? I've ticked the "teacher hours" box when creating the code not it's not counting towards these totals still. Failing that, I could create a new "year" that's not linked to a derived yeargroup in T6 and make lessons in there, but it's not at all ideal and would probably throw up an error every time an SQL is done.... Any thoughts much appreciated, Thanks, Mark

Afternoon, This query is regarding teachers assigned to google classrooms. Does anyone know of a way of associating "extra" staff with teaching groups in SIMs, so that when SIMs synchronises with G-suite the correct teachers stay with the groups (rather than adding them manually in google and this being overwritten)? I'm keen to explore getting SIMs to create reports automatically, rather than creating a report that I have to run each time to generate data to then drop into a spreadsheet that I've created to manipulate it. I'd be very grateful for any advice, links, pointers to the information. Thank you 👍

Quite possibly! If the classes all have the same number of periods (even if some are doubles) and the timings for each yeargroup are known, then it may be worth creating the new timetable with this in mind but not showing the various times on the timetable. At least SIMs will show what's going on then, even if the times are out. If you need to change the cycle, then that's another can of worms completely - this link has some info, the general concensus seems to be to avoid changing the cycle during the academic year though. https://faq.scomis.org/kb16581/ Mark

Afternoon, Following previous thread (not a good day today!), the levels are all correct, but not transferring via SQL. I think this is as the cycle was changed last week (very unusual thing to do mid year) so some courses looked like they'd finished and the timetable need to be reapplied. The error preventing SQL is courses out of data range. One thought would be to do an SQL starting from the first day of term, but I'd be very nervous about proceeding. Be grateful for any advice (I'm more of a T6 user and not really a SIMs user). Thanks, Mark

Morning, I've been asked to assign course level "BTA12" in T6, however the code does not exist in T6. There are similar ones, eg BTAw2 (BTEC Award Level 2?). Was just wondering if the course codes in T6 need to be refreshed, and if so how is this done? Many thanks, Mark

I did exactly the same (after doing options and specialist rooms). A quick way to check all classes have been roomed is to paste the yearband timetable into excel, and highlight all cells containing # - any unroomed ones then won't light up.

Morning, I'm doing an SQL for September, first time for ages that I've needed to do this. When I run the SQL, I get to the "merge curriculum" page but the right hand side is completely blank. I do want to link KS4 classes eg 10-->11 so that the classes are populated. Can I then re-run SQL to link them, or should I just SQL curriculum only first? Any advice appreciated, Thanks, Mark

I don't know how to do that, but if you use the "rooming" option it you can assign all rooms for a group with one click, and it does not take long to do all of them.

This is done on the Cycle page, right click on the period next to where you want to create one.

You can add an extra period into the cycle, but it may not be needed if you're not too worried about actual times aligning

Hi, Really odd thing - the teacher allocations to classes in the classes screen in T6 (and the teacher loads) are different from the actual timetable in a couple of cases. Ie: classes screen says a class is split 4:2, but the actual timetables have all 6 lessons on the same teacher. When I move two lessons across, to make the timetable the same as the classes screen, the allocations numbers in "edit staff" don't change - presumably as I'm making it the same as the classes page. I'd always thought that the indication of the classes page would be the same as the actual timetable. Be grateful for any thoughts. Thanks, Mark

You can add a new band to Year 10 (and 12), unschedule everything else, put what you want back in and at then schedule just those classes. At least then you the year groups are assigned correctly for when you populate the classes. But it's basically writing a new timetable, the only silver lining is that it should be easy to schedule. I cannot think of a quicker way....
