Steve21 Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Seems lots reporting it, but working fine here so guessing it’s locational Steve
FishCustard Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Seems a bit glitchy here every so often (West London).
psydii Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 (edited) I've seen a bump or two today, but nothing that I didn't dismiss as my device roaming between to old and janky APs. EDIT: ::Checks Twitter:: WOW. How does an ISP the size of Virgin drop off the net? BGP error(s)? This happened right I was dealing with a toddler meltdown so I missed it. 6Foot2 Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 I had an interruption in service about half an hour ago. It lasted about a minute. Back to normal now. For now...
FishCustard Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Let me guess, another BGP optimisation snafu?
Edu-IT Posted April 27, 2020 Author Posted April 27, 2020 It did return for a bit but it's just gone again.
6Foot2 Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 It did return for a bit but it's just gone again. Just came back after another 'mini outage'
MicrodigitUK Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Seems to be up and down for me the past hour on Virgin Media
psydii Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 It went down fully here, now is back up for some sites (edugeek, bing) but down for others (twitter, wikipedia). I'm going to go and have dinner.
Bedders Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 A lot of people who have Liberty Global across Europe have all just disconnected pretty much simultaneously...
howartp Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Interestingly my internet (VM) has been tiny flaky all week; I presumed I wasn’t normally home for long enough periods to notice but I wonder if it’s actually VM.
Wubbalubbadub Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Seems every hour Virgin media goes down here (East Midlands) Weird that Google services seem to stay up.
hardtailstar Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 glitchy here i cant video call but can access websites!
Steve21 Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Yeah ironically despite my earlier comments it seems it's now worked down south! Strangely though can access some stuff fine, while others not at all... DNS replicating?? Steve
forkies Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Seeing a number of failover events happening on my home network from my main virgin media line over to my BT line. 17.17pm until 17.28pm 18.18pm until 18.28pm 19.17pm until 19.20pm As you can see seems to drop out at about 17 minutes past the hour and return 10 minutes later except lates which only took 3 minutes. The fact it is happening at the same sort of time suggests a problem with a scheduled service of some sort on their infrastructure.

mikeprice Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Virgin media site seems to be down my telly and internet are just fine
MatthewL Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Not the first time recently, lost it for a few hours from midnight on the 18th too, here is today's. Luckily I have my EE MyFi device that I can tether too, need to work link it to my pFsense box for seamless swap over rather than having to connect a WiFi dongle to my PC. I'm getting pretty peed off with them recently, the connection isn't what it should be for a 200Mb, offerings from BT are poor, not FTTC as VM in the area.
hardtailstar Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 First time we have had any issues for a while.
XiJ Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Went down 3 times here. First time for 8 long minutes. I had daughter streaming a video in Plex, lad playing with friends on Xbox and me trying to remote session a server restore. We all sat there scared and panicked and wondered if it would ever end. Been okay since tho. But all our schools use use virgin connectivity went down - so lots of e mail alerts x 3
Edu-IT Posted April 27, 2020 Author Posted April 27, 2020 So we need to see what happens at 20.17? Just gone down... again...
