Sonic007 Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Is it any good? I’m used to TeamViewer but looking at free alternatives. Need to get member of staff remoting into her PC. Thanks all.
Sibrows Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 We've had very mixed results with it, for some its been ok for others very unreliable. We've ended up opting for https://www.msp360.com/remote-assistant.aspx setup in unattended mode.

Also not had great results with remote assistant. I am going to test remote utilities next - https://www.remoteutilities.com/ Currently have the free version of Team Viewer which is great but costs too much for just one connection.
mavhc Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Chrome Remote works more often than most things I've tried
jamwatn Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Not a fan personally. We've been using Quick Assist on Windows with fantastic results.
jamwatn Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Why? .... For me it was because Quick Assist is just already there and works, no extra steps or anything to install. Perhaps I didn't pursue Chrome Remote Desktop enough.
paulkerton Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Yup. Always worked well for me. You can't do unattended access on a Chrome OS device, but on Windows I had it installed on my desktop machine and was able to sit in a hospital waiting room getting on with some work whilst I was waiting for someone I'd took for a checkup over 4G.
Aaarrrahh Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 I've used it works great for me as an alternative to TV
ITGuyNW Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 My Chrome remote desktop seems to have died on me. Been down the last few days "Unknown error". Tried reinstalling the host MSI etc but no avail. Nothings changed. So I don't know why!
fredbayker Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 RemotePC is fairly cheap and works well. Do you not have any sort of VPN functionality on your firewall?
Ditto Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Like others, I've had mixed results, sometimes excellent and sometimes unusable. The point about Quick Assist is relevant and perhaps offers a decent alternative. I'm not sure I'd trust either as an enterprise level product and would look for more trusted alternatives - consider the value for money rather than purely cost. If teamviewer costs but provides a good service, than that will be less expensive a freebie that fails regularly due to the cost of your time lost.
JordanT91 Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 I used it quite a lot back in April and May. I found it very easy to set up and use.
