I had my first dose as two injections and I have had a booster. I will have another booster shortly. That will be a total of four injections at that point.

 

Same here, but like 6Foot2 I am over 50.

 

Youngsters without medical conditions have only had the initial 2.

How many jabs have you guys had? I have had 3 and have been eligible for number 4 for a while. I’m not sure of the UK situation.

With the autumn update I'll be on 4.

For my mum, the autumn update will be her fifth (a seemingly small group of people got a 4th jab at the beginning of the year).

Flu and C19 booked with a 2 week gap. Not based on strong medical advice, but have heard some people have a strong reaction having had both at once. Going with my instinct not to overload my immune system and have a bit of recovery time after flu jab.

I'm also wondering if it is supply line issues. When mine got cancelled, a whole weeks seemed to disappear as a booking option. I've now booked again for the following week and have been asked to fill in a online questionnaire so hopefully that's a good sign. I have managed to retain just short of a 2 week gap before Covid booster.

I mentioned this last year but it may be relevant again

 

Last year our flu jab was cancelled by the GP because they get allocated a number of doses and book appointments based on that number

Well - actually that number plus a normal number of people saying no or not turning up

 

but last year they basically had people saying yes every time and pretty much no refusals

plus everyone booked in had turned up

 

 

as a result they started running out of doses and had to order more which caused a delay

 

 

 

From the posts it sounds like the same is happening again - I presume the surgeries and pharmacies have adjusted the numbers but maybe take up is even higher

They've just cancelled again with 'for reasons outside of our control'!!!

Advise is to book again via the same route! Erm, I believe the definition of stupidity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Feels a bit shambolic.

I have now just booked with my local surgery for Monday. Nearer, sooner and maintains the 2 week gap before Covid booster.

Is peer reviewed scientific papers anti vax carp? This Dr was on ITV last year trying to combat Vaccine hesitancy and is now is calling for its immediate suspension of the Vaccine on safety grounds with the data they now have.

It didn’t take long to find a fact check of his claims. It seems they don’t stand up well to scrutiny.

Trying to couch this in a way that doesn't get me sent to the "P****cal" Step. In a well-known country there are two groups of people who disagree on many things, including the efficacy of Covid precautions and vaccines. Data has recently emerged that since the pandemic began death rates among the group that often refuses vaccines and masks have been higher, with the gap widening further after the availability of vaccines.

Flu was supposed to be this morning but Boots rang this morning and said they didn’t have a pharmacist. So I had that at 4pm instead. Covid happened at 6.30pm as planned.

Just the flu jab for me today - superbly efficient via the local surgery - I give up with the pharmacy! I'm given the ol' immune system a couple of weeks off before it gets hit with covid booster.

I had my flu vaccination on Saturday, and I will book my coronavirus booster shortly.

 

Re: The flu jab: I arrived a bit early at my surgery, was waved straight in, was injected, and was out and in my car driving home before my booked appointment time came around.

I'd be interested to have a read of that report and the data behind it. Could you PM if you are happy to do so. It would be interesting to see a similar study on England (or UK) data. I had a look at Excess Deaths PowerBI site I've referenced a couple of times a couple of times in the past. Nothing visually really standing out when viewing across various parameters including depravation index.

 

Separately there was one stand-out area: location = Hospice. Numbers well below expectations whereas deaths at home much higher. I wonder if they are linked. Are less people taking the option of hospice care, or are there a lot less places available? Covid trends between the two appear at a glance rather similar.

Very slightly achy arm with just flu jab. Definitely some swelling in armpit lymph glands, something I got with Covid jab 2 - but overall very minor and won't stop me hitting the Padel tennis court in a few hours!

I have heard that some people are being sent 50 miles or more. 5Foot2's nurse (administering her flu injection yesterday) said if this were to happen to her, she should keep trying to book after waiting a day, or so between booking attempts.

 

It was the nurse's opinion that with repeated attempts to book, you will be offered closer vaccination site alternatives. Fortunately for us, we didn't need to try again.

Had mine yesterday. Didn't feel ANYTHING as she jabbed me. Thought she might even have missed.

 

Sore arm this morning, so she hadn't. Feeling a bit bleah this evening m

5Foot2 and I had our booster injections on Wednesday. I felt the injection.

 

It wasn't painful, probably best described as a "hot" pin prick sensation.

 

My arm was a little sore that evening and the next day. Nothing to report apart from that. Similar for 5Foot2.

Booster done. Pfizer again, but this time targeted at variants 4 and 5. Pfizer is the only one I've ever had! That's four since Jan 2021. No symptoms currently but they set the expectation it is likely to be stronger than before.
