the_quick Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Well, I have another teacher complaining that a course requires MP4 videos and easiest would be to download them from YT. Told the teacher, it is against copy right and there is no legal way of doing it - quotes gov webpage. Of course she told me "but other schools do it!" But as I'm trying to be a helpful guy, I want to find a solution. Found so far https://www.pexels.com. I guess we can use it or similar. Do you guys have other suggestions?

DrBeaker Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Sounds like a great teacher who is teaching kids to break and not respect copyright law! This sounds more like an issue for the teacher to choose if they want to do that, rather than a technical issue. Plenty of free videos and tracks that can be downloaded and used as examples for learning.

The program allows you to choose lower definitions as well. Or so I have heard... Not that I'd be happy to have such stuff in a storage area that I might get the blame for.
gerardsweeney Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 If staff choose to download YT/BBC videos at home, and use them in the school - it's not my issue. So long as they're not asking for the downloading software to be installed on school PCs. And that they keep them on a USB stick away from servers
