elsiegee40 Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 @BKGarry and anyone else arriving from London. I will be getting the £9 specials... 09:50 from Waterloo arrives 11:19 15:47 to Waterloo arrives 17:19 1
LeMarchand Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Been having a tidy up/post revamp sort, and was wondering if anyone attending needed: Promethean Handsets Promethean USB to board connectors Promethean power bricks Obviously none of these has been tested, though they were working last time they were installed (or, in the case of the handsets, last time someone tried them), so it's pot luck. Don't mind driving up and sticking them in my car, but less keen on packing them and shipping them, hence the post in this thread first. PM me if interested/you need more details.
AJWhite1970 Posted December 11, 2019 Author Posted December 11, 2019 Just thought I'd bump this thread. Social is still good for Friday 3rd January in Salisbury, hopefully the rail strike will be over by then and the roads will still be free of school traffic. Where would people want to eat? Witherspoons (where EDIT ate in the evening), GreyFisher (no longer a Hungry Horse and actually quite edible now...) or somewhere new? Andrew
BKGarry Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Ooooooo Somewhere new, now that is interesting prospect.
Andrew_C Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Not me this time. At best with my family, or at a funeral, depending on crem availability.
AJWhite1970 Posted December 11, 2019 Author Posted December 11, 2019 @Andrew_C sorry to hear that Somewhere new depends on numbers as only a few places can cope with more than say 10 in one place...
elsiegee40 Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Not me this time. At best with my family, or at a funeral, depending on crem availability. Condolences [emoji22]
elsiegee40 Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 I'm ok with anything! Pint of WD40 for the dalek! 2
The_Oracle Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Friends said Cosy Club was good, but don't know if they can handle the numbers. What does the 'local knowledge' say?
StevieM Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 What about the Old Ale & Coffee House? I've only had a snack there (and a couple of beers) but it was good quality and a nice atmosphere. (I know I won't be going, this time, but still...)
AJWhite1970 Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 Cosy Club is an option, menu is here:- https://cosyclub.co.uk/menus/ Only downside is any party over 15 they want a £5 per head deposit in advance so would need to know numbers. At the moment they are fairly quiet for lunch on the 3rd
BKGarry Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 That does look yummy, the sharing patters, the blighty is very European ;-)
witch Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) Why not just Greyfisher - if it isnt a Hungry Horse then the menu will have changed so it will be like a new venue! Would like to see the menu as there isnt much for Veggies these days and if there isnt battered Halloumi and chips I'M NOT GOING!!!!!!! As for the Cosy Club - apart from the sickening name - who on earth thinks scrambled tofu is a thing - it's awful Edited December 12, 2019 by witch 1
DJ-1701 Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Dates? Plural? You're bring down multiple? With regard to me I will need to request the day whenever it is anyway, so will keep an eye on the thread. I don't think I have said, but I booked the day off, so will see you down there. 1

BKGarry Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Tickets booked, same times as @elsiegee40 3
AJWhite1970 Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 Hi all. It's Monday already, lost track of days!! Hope you all had a good Christmas. I need to sort out a table booking in the next couple of days so would appriciate a quick show of hands if you are still coming on Friday for lunch. Plenty of spaces left for those who are now unexpecidly free as well. The usual free on-site parking is available and those who are coming by train usually coordinate walking down together if their arrival times are similar. Lookjng to eat about 12:30 so those east of London have plenty of time to rest and relax before going back Cheers Andrew 2
