Hello does anybody have a form school visitors need to sign before allowing them to use a school computer

Does anybody have a form school visitors need to sign before they connect their mobile or laptop to the school wifi

Do you give them the wificode and proxy settings or do you put these details in for them

Any templates would be useful

Thank you on advance

Staff and pupils have to currently sign a user disclaimer

But these are visitors.

I worked in UK schools from 2007 until recently and there wasn't any need for a form etc to connect to visitors WIFI. Some of the schools were graded by Ofsted as outstanding.

Normally Just give out the password on paper which also has the disclaimer on there

This is what we do. I made some laminated strips with the details on that also have info about filtering and logging. Reception hand them out when someone asks for the details.

If someone asks me directly, I just make sure to tell them.

We use Unifi's built in hotspot. We just print out the auto-generated tickets every so often and they get the following when they attempt to access the network. (Red Square is where the school's logo goes).

Terms of Use

By accessing the wireless network, you acknowledge that you are of legal age, and you have read and understood and agree to be bound by this agreement.

The wireless network service is provided by the property owners and is completely at their discretion. Your access to the network may be blocked, suspended, or terminated at any time for any reason.

You agree not to use the wireless network for any purpose that is unlawful and take full responsibility for your actions.

The wireless network is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied.

The connection is filtered and you may not be able to connect to all sites that you wish to. The filter also provides logs of visited sites.

You should exercise discretion in your browsing and not attempt to connect to non-school appropriate sites. The service is provided for use in connection with school business. It should not be used for streaming music or video apart from as part of a lesson or presentation. You should also not use the service to download files or data for personal or non-school related purposes. As the guest network is “open” we do not recommend using it to view or transfer any sensitive or confidential data.

Most people just use their phones rather that faff about changing their proxy settings,

Is the implication that guest wifi allows them access to any kind of school data?

I'd say that's a pretty crappy network if it does. It should be VLAN'd off for sure for a start.
