I have this morning been tasked with finding a solution to a non problem.

I have been asked to look into the possibility of a software based solution for reporting staff absences.

Currently the Headteacher is sent a text message or called by the staff member reporting their absence. Apparently this is too much to collate as we have a large number of staff absences. I have been asked to find a software/cloudbased solution to the problem, either with a messaging system or an app based interface that staff can use that will collate the information in an easy to read setup.

Anyone have any ideas?

Our HR person records this on SIMS and the member of staff completes a Google form with more detail on there return

I would also suggest using either Google Forms or Microsoft Forms. All form responses will be automatically collated in a handy spreadsheet which can be locked down using permissions.

We use google forms with some app script, after it is filled in it generates a proforma and emails it to HR and the relevant schools contacts in the mat.
