Did you work there or you mean the price there putting on your job?

NickHoughton Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Talking of pay cuts, I was looking at a 5k+ pay cut when I applied for the job I didn't get! As long as there is enough to get by, it's maybe worth living on the breadline if the role fits your long term goals.

I don't see how anyone would get out of bed for 13k a year unless there was some incentive. I am thinking of applying but I'd need to start at the top end to make it financially viable.

Despite being technically more knowledgeable... It can be a big adjustment working in schools I am afraid and the schools are very aware of this, hence your previous experiences. 1

Ive been weighing it up and although house prices are considerably lower in the rest of the country, nothing else is. If you go to tescos a loaf of bread is near enough the same price anywhere, same goes for things like TVs, the internet doesnt charge you more if you live in london. Even though the house prices are lower once you take the pay cut then you will still be in the same position of not being able to afford a mortgage, except you will have less spare cash in your back pocket for luxury and entertainment.
