Greg Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Capita have announced the rerelease of the Spring 2019 update https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/Notifications/sims-spring7186-release/ Have fun...
bobsmith Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 just asked my NM to delay roll out till after Easter..... We could guess what's broken already?
howartp Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Well I would read the release notes, but they're not working as usual.
round2it Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 ok so after updating last night, certain pages in sims have the ok cancel button appearing underneath the task bar with no way to resize having to use tab to get to them
Sylv3r Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 I Installed this latest release on Wednesday, no issues reported back to us yet.
matt40k Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Hopefully you won't have to contact the ICO after applying this update (Too soon?)
DrCheese Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 No no, you won't have to contact them yet. That'll be 6 months from now when Capita realise somethings broken & then they'll try to pass all the blame onto you/block you from using it until you accept that it's your fault. (Thankfully the ICO will see it differently) Then they'll not be a BETT next year again because of "" - Not because they're trying to avoid being hunted down by people angry at them for causing them loads of extra work. 1
DrCheese Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 & guess what - Low and behold! http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/198167-urgent-capita-sims-data-issue-issued-childrens-services-15.html#post1756754
matt40k Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 You can't make this up. I heard they had some address logic that has always been disabled that they had apparently enabled. Speaking with one of the old devs, the reason it was disabled was because they never could get it to work. I wonder if all this trouble is caused by some code some developer wrote years and years ago and never got round to finishing. Be hilarious if it is, especially if this is the 2nd attempt at finishing it :D 1
CAM Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Just got to the NM in time. He was due to run the patch tomorrow!
DrCheese Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 haha, My joke made the register https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/04/04/capita_reports_incident_with_schools_information_management_system/ 3
DrCheese Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I know right, totally famous! But in all seriousness, glad this was caught yesterday as I'd planned to roll it out last night!
Boredguy Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I did roll it out last night, but warned the admin staff this morning. They should have a fix by the time we get back from half term (hopefully)
ITGuyNW Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 BT Lancashire have called us to say the rollout for tonight is now delayed until after Half Term.
pete Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Yeah, I had this planned for Easter hols, but it's suspended now until it's clearer a) what's broken and b) the data implications
TwistedHelixis Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 They should have a fix by the time we get back from half term (hopefully) Which half term are you thinking :0P
Greg Posted April 8, 2019 Author Posted April 8, 2019 Patch 24836 has just been released to fix the issue
