But, using macs for music is such a waste of money. Speaking as someone who has both worked in, and designed recording studios over time. You'd be much better served with a Xeon-powered Z420 or an i7-powered HP desktop. You'd have more power, more memory, and will have spent far less! 2

Norphy Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 How far back do you want to go? I've had pretty good success buying from the Apple Refurb store before. Admittedly we used a company credit card but we still saved a fair amount.

pete Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Our lot are using Garageband on iPads as a data point. For what they're doing (recording to the iPad) they're happy and so far they haven't broken any (~2yrs now).

Mrpower Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Hello, I have used https://macbank.co.uk they always seem to have a good stock of iMacs and Mac Pros to choose from and nearly every Mac comes with an SSD hard drive which usually improves older Macs; as well as good amounts of Ram, which is always nice.
