kennysarmy Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Trying to make out the characters in this Windows 7 serial number from the bottom of a laptop!
Jawloms Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Looks like a captcha to me! Trying to prove we're not robots? 1
6Foot2 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 I would say... 8WVQV - B6MY8 - YBWQ4 Agreed. Mods: Should this be moved to a private forum to protect the Licence key from copying? (also reporting the original post with the same suggestion)
kennysarmy Posted January 21, 2019 Author Posted January 21, 2019 Agreed. Mods: Should this be moved to a private forum to protect the Licence key from copying? (also reporting the original post with the same suggestion) ? It's not the full code....
6Foot2 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 ? It's not the full code.... Just a suggestion, but OK then.
mrwoberts Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 8WVQV-B6MY8-Y8WQ4 OR 6WVQV-B6MY8-Y8WQ4 There's a little part of me that wonders whether that last Y is actually an X, so it becomes X8WQ4
mikeprice Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Looks like a captcha to me! Trying to prove we're not robots? Shhh - don't tell @DalekSec
DalekSec Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Shhh - don't tell @DalekSec What code i can't see no code....
Arthur Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 8WVQV-B6MY8-Y8WQ4 ^ Ditto. It's a bit easier when the image is inverted. 🙃
Ditto Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Try squinting too - odd how it works. Really there are only a couple of characters in doubt.
kennysarmy Posted January 23, 2019 Author Posted January 23, 2019 Well we've tried all the suggestions and life is too short....so we've reverted it to one of our MAK codes, the laptop probably only has another 6 months life it it before it goes to laptop heaven (or hell!)
Ditto Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 A sensible business decision! But you'll miss the buzz of cracking the code! Out of interest, is this an OEM license? I thought most OEM installs didn't require you to enter the code with the right install disk? Certainly on Dell's I've not needed to.
