Does anyone use desks that can hide the pc equipment so it can be used to work at normally by pupils as well?

If so which brand/model did you go with and how have you found them?

(sorry if posted in wrong section - could nt find the furniture topics LOL) :D

At my local high school they have just done an LRC room and used computers that sit inside desks.

Basically you have a desk space with a area in the middle that flips up and allows access to monitor keyboard and mouse.

The tower sits inside a secure cabinet underneath the desk physically attached to it.

I dont know the actual name or whatever but thats what we have, they are very cool and very secure since each unit ties into the next one, so if you have 2 banks of 10 desks, no one on earth will be able to nick them.

We were looking to make a room dual use with a conference style desk in the middle. We also needed the room to have 30 machines. We spent ages looking around at different solutions and we couldnt find one better than I desk.

Here is a link to pics of our room.

We have since gone for an identical solution this summer in another room which was being split into a smaller classroom and an office. Will post pics when I have downloaded them from the camera :-)

Try one of our sponsors Isis.

I echo Chris's comments, HIGHLY recommend Isis Concepts. I have also got some I-Desks and the staff and students, and me and my team WAY prefer Isis Concepts over the I-Desks. I cannot wait to chuck the I-Desks in the skip that will be a very enjoyable day :)
