Alternatives to SMART Notebook

Have you looked at the lynx software that comes with clever touch? That's what persuaded us to get clever touch boards. It can import smart files and looks pretty good. There is also openbord (sankore fork) but I found it rather clunky.

you'll get a lifetime licence of Oktopus if you go down the BenQ route, (as well as BenQ's built in android tools). Oktopus imports SMART files directly. hopefully it was included when you had your demo. https://qwizdomoktopus.com/

Online, there's AWebWhiteboard and Explain Everything. If you currently use Microsoft Office, Powerpoint actually has suprisingly good annotation tools built in (just move the mouse cursor while in presenting mode, the annotation menu pops up in the bottom left corner). I haven't used the Office 365 version, but that might be worth a try, too.

Whatever you switch to make sure you don't fall into the same trap of spending years creating resources for a closed system, so you'll have the same problem again a few years later if you need to switch again, or if they randomly decide to switch to a subscription model....

We use the subscription service for Smart and have many devices. But we are beginning to look at alternatives. My problem is that I haven't found a solution yet that has the extended page option. Most applications limit you to a single slide/page view and you can't expand that. Our Math department loves how Smart Notebook works...stretches with the math problems so you have plenty of space to scroll down and keep working. Does anyone know of an application that offers this feature along with math tools to assist with graphing, special characters and converting drawing to equations?

Doesn’t OneNote allow this?

OneNote has some of the Math functions but it doesn't have the extended page option which is the thing I need the most for long math problems.

Started playing with OneNote again and it does look like it can extend but not with the flexibility of Smart Notebook...But I'm definitely going to play with this more and see if I can find a way to work around the issues so it may be a possibility after all. Thanks!!

Will it open/convert Smart Notebook files?

I have this deployed and science love it for its infinite scroll and zooming capability. It will automatically extend the page when you get close to the edge which can be a little bit tricky for some but if you just zoom out slightly with a two finger gesture it adds some more white space.
