Should have sent this...

Dear Cretins,

I have been an Tiscali customer since (Insert Date Here), when I signed up for your 2-in-one deal for cable modem, and telephone. During this period I have encountered inadequacy of service which I had not previously considered possible, as well as ignorance and stupidity of monolithic proportions. Please allow me to provide specific details, so that you can either pursue your professional perogative, and seek to rectify these difficulties - or more likely (I suspect) so that you can have some entertaining reading material as you while away the working day smoking B&H and drinking vendor-coffee on the bog in your office: My initial contract and broadband was changed without warning, resulting in my spending an entire Saturday sitting on my fat a*** waiting for your phone call to sort this mess out.

When it did not happen, I spent a further X minutes listening to your infuriating hold music, and the even more annoying robot woman telling me to look at your helpful website....HOW without any internet?

I alleviated the boredom by playing with my for a few minutes - an activity at which you are no-doubt both familiar and highly adept. Our services then resumed some two weeks later, although the technician who told us did forget to tell us a number of vital things - such as our connection has been slowed, and that he has no cerebrum.

Two weeks later, my connection is still rubbush. After 15 telephone calls over 4 weeks my connection has started to behave a little... six weeks after I had requested it, and begun to pay for it. I estimate your internet server's downtime is roughly 35%... hours between about 6pm -midnight, Mon-Fri, and most of the weekend. I am still waiting for my internet connection to be sorted properly. I have made 9 calls on my mobile to your no-help line, and have been unhelpfully transferred to a variety of disinterested individuals

I have been informed that our broadband line is working (and someone will call me back); that no line testing is available (and someone will call me back); that I will be transferred to someone who knows whether or not a line test is available (and then been cut off); that I will be transferred to someone (and then been redirected to an answer machine informing me that your office is closed); that I will be transferred to someone and then been redirected to the irritating robot woman...and several other variations on this theme.

Doubtless you are no longer reading this letter, as you have at least a thousand other dissatisfied customers to ignore, and also another one of those crucially important moments to attend to. Frankly I don't care, it's far more satisfying as a customer to voice my frustration's in print than to shout them at your unending hold music. Forgive me, therefore, if I continue.

I thought NTL/Virgin Media were s***, that they had attained the holy piss-pot of godawful customer relations, that no-one, anywhere, ever, could be more disinterested, less helpful or more obstructive to delivering service to their customers. That's why I chose my new provider, and because, well, there isn't anyone else is there who is as good! How surprised I therefore was, when I discovered to my considerable dissatisfaction and disappointment what a useless shower of b***** you truly are. You are sputum-filled pieces of distended rectum incompetents of the highest order.

British Telecom and NTL/Virgin Media - idiots though they are - shine like brilliant beacons of success, in the filthy puss-filled mire of your seemingly limitless inadequacy. Suffice to say that I have now given up on my futile and foolhardy quest to receive any kind of service from you. I suggest that you cease any potential future attempts to extort payment from me for the services which you have so pointedly and catastrophically failed to deliver - any such activity will be greeted initially with hilarity and disbelief quickly be replaced by derision, and even perhaps bemused rage. I enclose two small deposits, selected with great care from my cats litter tray, as an expression of my utter and complete contempt for both you and your pointless company. I sincerely hope that they have not become desiccated during transit - they were satisfyingly moist at the time of posting, and I would feel considerable disappointment if you did not experience both their rich aroma and delicate texture. Consider them the very embodiment of my feelings towards Tiscali, and its worthless employees.

Have a nice day - may it be the last in you miserable short life, you irritatingly incompetent and infuriatingly unhelpful bunch of ****!

Regards

I signed up with tiscali about two weeks ago as I couldn't get 02. I have noticed that the performance drops dramitically after 6pm, ie. Down from 4.5mbs to 400kbps.

Have I made a boo boo....

Change to bottom of the letter.

I expect for this matter to be resolved in full by no latter than 7 working days from receipt of this letter, including payment for the following.

Cost of this letter to sort out the problems with your billing and cancellation departments in accordance with the supply of goods act 1982, charged at £12.

Refund for services you were contracted to provide yet failed to deliver @ £5 per month over a period of 13 months totalling £65

Failure to comply with this will result in the matter being taken through the small claims court.

If I am getting performance issues can I cancel the contract?

Yes, you will have a battle on your hands, you will probably end up going to court over it, or at least putting the paperwork into your local small claims court.

I had pipex, amount of problems with them. Was told my network was on tiscali at some point last year, loads of problems with that. They didn't tell me new settings either. Recently have had numerous drops of my connection over and over again.

Espesh annoying when your winning a game of Starcraft online and it drops off for the 20th time. It was also annoying last year when trying to finish my dissertation/prepare for exams etc. Nightmare.

Tisacli/Pipex you are total bllx!! Also I do not get what I pay for, no where near!!!

Just cancelled my tiscali contract no problem. Was abit forceful, but hey you have to be.

Probably just go with BT now.

Please remember to cancel your tiscali Direct Debit and also put you cancellation in writing.

AGHHHHAAAAAGHHHAHAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAA

Still not resolved the issue of cancellation, even though we cancelled in writting in december.

Latest contact is from a debt collection agency demanding £65.

Tarading standards are f'ing useless, so now I have to go to the obudsman before I can take them to court. :censored: 3 months, 6 letters, £12 on recorded delivery.

Idiots, cant wait till the go belly up.

They've tried to bill me £20 for a months usage, so have rung them up to tell them I'm not paying it as I couldn't use the service! I even put the phone down on them. Useless.

Glad to see I'm not the only one having problems with them. After a week of phone calls to their 10p a minute tech support line (for which they are currently debating whether or not to refund me the cost) I've finally got them to accept its a fault either with the router or the line.

On Friday it got to the point where they said they were going to send me a router, which would take three to five working days to arrive, so that I could check exactly where the fault lay and get an engineer out if necessary. After a small explosion on my part, during which the word OfCom was mentioned several times, they've arranged to send an engineer this evening - with the router that supposedly takes a week to arrive.

If the engineer actually turns up I'll be impressed.

Damn i'm on the edge of my seat, how long did it take him to fly over from India? :p

Given that he's still not turned up? A good question.

To say I am a little annoyed is an understatement. I am currently in the mood to start ordering seige weaponry.

I'm now on day 9, and have received a second callback from the Tiscali Fault Management team. Apparently, because of a fault in their software, an engineer was not booked to visit me.

An engineer has now been booked for Friday. They offered one earlier, but of course the only available slots then were during working hours. I made it quite clear that unlike their engineers I am unwilling to slack off from work for my own conveniece.

They have, kindly, offered a refund for the days where I have been experiencing this problem. They have also told me that I can e-mail their complaints department, which I have already done several times. Several requests for a contact number for their complaints department were met with polite refusal. My latest two e-mails to their complaints department have so far gone unanswered.

I have now got the phone numbers for OfCom, and will be calling them shortly. This has now gone beyond the point of being a mere inconvenience and into true warfare. I took a similar approach to tv licensing, and eventually received a full apology, but in that case the incident did not cost me any money. This one has, as well a large portion of my temper.

If you know anyone on Tiscali near the end of their contract, tell them to get out. Anyone who suggests that they might be getting Tiscali should be warned off with great speed.

Now there I was thinking you might actually see a Tiscali Engineer, can you take a photo of the mythical beast, just to prove he exists!

I Used to work for them in the days on the Tiny online migration before they moved the call centers to India. Tech support calls used to cost 50p per minute!!!!!! i worked on sign up, tech support then admin call back. It was amazing the amount of calls for the same issue we used to take before they would escalate it!

anyone know of any news of Tiscali going bust?

tried to get on the internet this morning and I couldn't, wondering if it because they've finally died completely?

The engineer arrived, or at least an outsourced engineer. Very pleasant guy, gave me a new (much nicer router) and took away the old one. Checked the line, no problem, checked that I could connect to the internet and was getting a decent speed (more than 10x what I was getting on the old router).

So in essence, if you're on Tiscali and have one of the old Gigaset routers, tell them its failed. They're defective. Request one of the Thompson ones instead.
