Hi Everyone, I'm having a bit of an issue with Successmaker version 1.3, Intermittently it freezes when opening or closing an activity. All we get is "Preparing to run activity, please wait..." and thats it just frozen. I have checked the event logs on the PC with nothing noted. Just wanted to know is anyone else has come across this, and if anyone has any suggestions.

We dont seem to have to many problems. Only reseating the RAM but we do that ourselves. Agreed on the engineer. Dont suppose we are all talking about the same guy called Andy got grey hair down to his shoulders knows what he is talking about and quite tall??

Hi Guys, Does anyone have any experience with this particular printer? We have one down in the technology department and the head of department is having a few issues. When he sends an A3 document to print it converts it to A4 if there is A4 and A3 paper in the printer no matter what he does it converts it, But if you take out the A4 paper it prints on the A3. ???????? Any help!

I Wish we could move over to 7 or even Vista but the mere mention of either OS makes the boss and senior tech scowl in my general direction!! Just like so many others stuck in the past. if they had their way we would all be using 98 or worse a Dragon 32.

If you are aiming any part of the site at the little darlings you may want to have some links to educational games elsewhere on the internet i found loads for my daughter to use!
-
Right thats all set up. Thanks for the help again guys and gals where would i be without you lot. Only one more issue !!!!!!!! Just hope i've got enough space for all these backups.

I seem to have got myself in a pickle yet again. Following your instructions was going great but as i could not find an option to repeat every 28 days i was telling to do it on every last monday, last tuesday etc. But my plan fell apart when because of the differences of days in a month the weeks became inter-mingled with each other. Oh for a really world class Head doctor right now. my brain is fried help!

Yeah i understand it nice i will put it to the boss and see what he has to say!!

Very nice! and a very quick reply thank you. Now i find myself with another problem. We need to have some backup data going back 3 to 4 weeks but i am running incremental backups set to append not replace, unfortunatly the append option is just making one big backup with no way that i can see to delete anything. Am i missing something, am i just being completley stupid. Think i've spent to much time googling this. please help!!!!
-
Now then fellow techies, I have a new problem, Thanks for everyone's help on the last one. Ok I am looking for a script which will delete Incremental backup's of a certain age i have found a few online while searching but nothing that seems to be quite right. Basically i do one full backup per week and then incrementals each day i would like to delete any backups older than say 4 weeks old. Any advice would be most appreciated as my scripting skills add up to zero. Cheers People Jon

We have it!! All we needed to do was put that intranet page into it's own Zone in IE then restrict file downloads from the site. Sorted in GP
-
It's not from the internet in's a server on our intranet. It is all for educational purposes but we just dont want each one of our 1200 pupils to have 2Gb of video by the end of the year
-
The video's are stored on the clipbank server. think the boss is looking for minimal mess around as we have enough to do when the staff and kids are in.
-
That would be a great idea but not what i'm looking for. I think i have found a way by adding the site to a restriced zone in IE then using GP to stop them downloading from there?? not sure if it will work though!
-
Ok now i'm being told that i need to do this with a group policy. I tried adding the url as a restricted site in IE but it say's It's alreay in one of the zones???? I'm lost now and he isn't back untill tomorrow. Ahh well any advise would be appreciated.
-
I will look into that tomorrow! for now my head is spinning with GPO and OU's and rebuilding machines in Suites. Need to unplug for a while

To Kmount if you worked here you would know we give the idea's he knocks them back then comes in two days later trying topass them off as his own. and to TheLibrarian actually a good idea i will mention this to the powers that be.
-
The kiddies would still trash each others work. It's at times like this i wish i worked at a nice school where the kids have respect.
-
Again a perfectly good idea and one i suggested myself but again the chief knocked me back!
