vikpaw Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 I see with the new app there appears to be a few companies who have taken reasonable sized plots in the past not committed / agreed yet (though I'll happily stand corrected): Talking of the app, there are loads of issues, even the website is out of date, with some supplier data incorrect, or duplicate entries. Seen quite a few dupes in the app list. This was interesting though: I'm not sure being serviced by that XXX company is suitable for an education show even if they are GDPR compliant.

But can you remember why? It got to one point with one firm where pretty much all their staff had changed but I was always ignored on their stand ... and it took until the first year of teh EG stand for someone to talk to me ... and noone could remember why it happened. I could ... I heckled a particularly annoying sales drone during a presentation because they were selling by slating the competition. I pointed this out and only 2 people could remember that person and fully agreed that they were a !

I was a bit disappointed to find that it wasn't a live Progresso being shown, but a PowerPoint of screenshots running in a loop. Are Advanced going this year?

AsifMangera Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Barriers seem to be common in the education sector as companies seek look after their own interests. We looked for partners who listened to needs and the requirement for simplicity in transition. Key item was integrated a cloud finance system with the MIS that was as functional or better (and cheaper TCO) than the existing model. Thankfully we hurdled the barrier and can move forward now with our schools.
Ditto Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 They haven't been for a few years now. The said a few years back they'd focus on their own event, which they have done. I haven't managed to attend any yet and am unlikely to do so in the near future.

Someone else said they're using Bootstrap, which I was astonished by! Like I say, they must be using it in SIMS 8, cause I really cannot see it in use at all SIMS Finance. I'm shocked that people still use Jaspersoft. Maybe its just like SIMS in schools? People get into this comfortable rut with the brand name they know?
